Yes. When we're done fixing the issues with verification.

Hi Davout, thanks for responding to all these questions. And good to hear you're back in business.

While you're fixing the verification issues, please also fix the "additional documents" needed. I've already uploaded a copy of my passport and proof of residence, yet your site requests a second ID *and* a bank statement.

This is not KYC/AML, this is ludicrous.

For me personally, uploading ID and proof of residence is the max of what you can expect a customer to provide. Maybe a one time payment from my IBAN to verify the account name corresponds with the submitted ID.

Dear Robert,

As you've probably guessed we don't ask all this because we have some kind of weird documents fetish.
We have to work with the financial regulator, and currently that is the way it has to be.
You'd get asked the same documentation if you were to open a bank account in any French bank.

I understand it sucks for our customers (especially the ones that have been around for a while like you), and I would feel the same in the same position.
However remember that so far we're the only exchange that provides its customers with actual and legal individual payment accounts.

Please review your verification policy, if you expect to get a 24-hour volume above the current 31 XBT ;-)

I'm really not worried about that, Rome wasn't built in a day, got burnt, rebuilt, and proceeded to conquer a shit ton of other cities that weren't built on such a rock-solid foundation.

Thank you for your feedback!

My verification had not been processed within 10 days.
Then, when I requested account cancellation I obtained a
message that one side of my national id was not of proper
quality. The very same scan was accepted 2 weeks earlier
to open a bank account...

As your support does not answer my tickets, I ask my
question here:

Where and how should I direct my request for account
cancellation to, now?
FWIW, I was verified before the business interruption.

Of course you do, document fetishes where Frances main export for decades Tongue

There's probably a few percent of our GDP that evaporates in bureaucratic frustration every year...

In full honesty I'd say wait a couple of weeks and resubmit your request.

We understand we should respect the wishes of people who want out (and we will of course honor your legitimate request), but our number one priority is to help the people who want in.

Volume today is twice what it was yesterday: this is directly correlated to account verification because only verified accounts can trade.
It takes some time to get each payment account approved by the banking partner but the number of active customers is going up by the day.
They are also working on reducing lead time for withdrawals to 1 or two days. This will help volume as well.

The claim process was pretty straightforward for someone as smart as you think you are.
It worked for hundreds of people who got their refund in due time.
I do not know why it failed for you because you are not telling me the details (status, amount, wallet key).

… just leaving this here as others might consider it worthy to know about Boussac's business ethics. This was his reply to this:
Hi Boussac,

what's with my claim 34a28881-b884-4b44-94d2-669b4d46962c?

It's a bit disappointing to have this dangling since ages and just want to make sure you know I don't consider this settled as is.

Regards,

Leo Wandersleb

How is a claim id not enough info? How dare to make assumptions about my self perception of my intelligence and thereby implicitly question my intellect when I - for the tenth time - ask for my money back, giving my claim id which should be the identifier of my claim and therefore be a direct pointer to all the data in their database that he asked for in his rude reply?

the high transactions fees are killing the exchange
0.59% it's so 2012, you are lagging behind the competition.
You seem to be new here.
Consider the costs of having your money frozen at an exchange holding an imaginary license such as bitstamp, include it in your calculation, conclude.
I hope for you that you reach the correct conclusion in time, unlike the people who had fiat sitting on gox when karpy got bitchslapped by the DoJ.

with all that many shutdowns, and getting burned everytime you come back online with huge price increases,
You either have lots of imagination or a problem with the use of plural.

anyone that used bitcoin-central on april will, by now,
have open accounts at bitstamp or btc-e.
I am not a jealous man.

And absolutely 0 incentive to use your page.

Hi,

I deposited some bitcoins before the outage, the balance is still there but it is not in the "available balance" section. I am guessing this is because my account isn't verified.
Is it possible to withdraw these bitcoins without being verified?

Thank you!

This is correct.

Is it possible to withdraw these bitcoins without being verified?

Currently no.

However, we will make it possible. It might take some time though because in some cases people that aren't able or willing to verify have some outstanding fiat balance, and we want to give an exit option to these people too.
So the process will be something like this :
 - We convert remaining fiat to BTC for these accounts
 - We build a small interface dedicated to the liquidation of the BTC balances (that, of course, doesn't require verification or identification to be provided)

Still waiting for my withdrawal (appears as processed) 13th of October. Even after Boussac's PM, issue is not resolved. Verification done prior to withdrawal.

Anybody received a SEPA withdrawal after selling some BTC since the re-opening ?

There is an issue with your withdraw request but it will be sorted out; other withdrawals are being processed rather smoothly by our banking partner.
The objective of less than 2 business days on average will be met.

I buy some BTC on Bitcoin-central the 29/10 for an asic miner.
Ask for withdrawal my BTC on my wallet, I'm currently still waiting the funds since this day…

Nobody to answer my question on twitter even if the bitcoin-central account seems active…
No answer too on my support ticket open the 31/10.

I lost my potential asic miner too, because no funds at the end of the auction.

Bitcoin-central just seems to be a huge scam, with no volume, no support, no activity and no speed…

Bank are closed in France between 31.10 and 5.11 ... sad,  but you have to except this kind of problems with a French based activity...

Why would he need banks to be open for a BTC withdrawal?

EDIT : I was about to wire some money to buy BTC too, looking for more feedback before I switch back to bitstamp.

BTC withdrawals require clicking on a confirmation link: the only reason for a delay in excess of one business day is that you did not check the confirmation email. I do not see an open support ticket on this subject.
Instant btc withdrawals are going to be deployed soon but right now BC is still perfoming under human supervision for ultimate security.
