Litecoin will not exist in ten years HTH. That chart only looks at one year (Jan 1 '13 - Jan 1 '14), a particularly good one for Litecoin, rather convenient.

Sadly only one global tamper-proof public ledger of account is necessary for this species. While having alternate pretend financial singularities is fun and amusing in the short term, it will grow problematic (and then laughable) in the longterm when Bitcoin goes parabolic and Litecoins are essentially worthless by comparison.

When a baby singularity meets bigger singularity, the result is always the same:

Mother eats child.

in fact litecoin has several advantages over bitcoin
but the price of litecoin and litecoin community, not as expensive as the price of bitcoin and and not as strong as bitcoin community

Litecoin does have some notable advantages over Bitcoin, like the speed of transactions which is faster and mining LTC is much easier than mining BTC (if you compare their mining difficulty, LTC is lower) So this means I could mine more Litecoins than I would with BTC with current mining equipment, thus making it easier to get to the BTC by taking advantage of LTC. Just my opinion.  Grin

You make my point perfectly. If you can mine litecoins "easier" than bitcoins then litecoins are overpriced. The model of dumping overpriced coins on an exchange for a better value only works if you can find dumb buyers... oh I see your point.

I don't mine though but I've been buying LTC since last month. I can see its one of the top cryptocurrency ever and therefore will continue t o rise now that China is also into it.

I feel like Bitcoin is so much better than LiteCoin because you can hold onto it longer, where Bitcoin gets hold onto for years on end. It's difficult.

this is an old topic but i like litecoin too, it does not really offer anything new or useful in comparison with bitcoin but the litecoin market becomes interesting from time to time which helps us make some more bitcoin on the side by trading it.

litecoin has a lower value than bitcoins. if you are using faucets, litecoins faucets give you a much greater value than bitcoins. but bitcoins are more popular in value and should be used more. thanks

If litecoin would have been so great this forum would be named litecointalk and everyone would chase it. But bitcoin has shown its value and that's obvious.

litecoin is only good for trading and nothing else.

bitcoin on the other hand has more value, and real world usage (there are a few but growing) so in comparison with litecoin you can say bitcoin is good for the future to hold it and use it as an actual currency when it is widely used and has more value whereas litecoin is good to trade short term in order to make more bitcoin by buying low and selling high.

litecoin market luckily is big enough to let you earn a decent profit easily and history has shown that it gets pumped from time to time, like the big pump that happened a couple of months ago by the Chinese.

I think that will prevail is bitcoin. even now, bitcoin is more advanced than in litecoin, but a different story if a matter of trading, as litecoin often used for trading, but when it comes to my finances still choose bitcoin

Interesting discussion. As a trader it would be which ever is more liquid, but there's opportunities in both.  Wink

Yeah, bitcoin is mostly used and accepted as compared to litecoin and when it comes to sending money online you can only send if hold bitcoins in your wallet not possible with litecoin.
