What's funny to me are the people selling don't seem to comprehend (yet) that several whales are watching them undercut the going rate and they're pulling back until one of them decides it's gone low enough and they gobble everything back up to that rate. If they were to hold from undercutting themselves the whales would be forced to pay the going rate and they'd make more money.

YES, everything is hunky-dory. People are still bugging out because they are seeing timestamps of Blocks in the Block Explorer that are earlier than previous Blocks. This is 100% working as designed. The phenomenon is called clock drift and anyone can run a simple calculation to verify if the Block's timestamp is valid and therefore should be included in the blockchain.

For Verge, I just verified the calculation.

I ran the clock drift calculation testing the validity of block 2072442. Here are the timestamps of the previous 11 blocks:
