Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

You'll probably get a faster response on their WebIRC link.

Thanks os2sam, I did get onto Graet and he sorted it out for me.

But I kind of whoopsed with the S3's, the date for batch 8
is 20Sep not 20Aug that I thought it was, It will teach me not
to act before actually reading (and comprehending) the whole
picture.

Anyway they are cheap enough now, even with that months
extra wait, it will work out pretty well IMO

cheers

There is something I don't understand going on here.
According to the pool's hashrate graph and my own observations, Ozcoin pool is running over 1 PH/s for more than 24 hours now.
To be more precise, the graph reports that in the last 24 hours it ran at an average hashrate of about 1,061,302 GH/s (I tried to attach an image of the graph but I get the "bitcointalk.org image proxy invalid image" error, so you have to go here to see it).
I checked with gribble in the #ozcoin IRC chat room and it says:

Quote
XFox ;;gentime [bc,ozcoin]
gribble The average time to generate a block at 1187338931.0 Mhps, given difficulty of 23844670038.8, is 23 hours, 57 minutes, and 34 seconds

But ozbot and website reports that we still found only 34.50% of diff:

Quote
XFox .site
ozbot This round (3d 0h 30m) we have 8226859901 shares, avg 1187.34 TH/s | 34.50% of diff | 68 users

Shouldn't we already be near 100% of diff??
Am I missing something, is the share count wrong, are there missing shares somewhere or what? Huh

Dear Ozco.iners,

Since tomorrow my miners (over 1ooo GH/s) are hashing with 2 GH/s. Is the pool temporarily dead? In the Shoutbox other users report similar problems.

I tried the different stratum-connections (EU, US, CN) unfortunately unsuccessful. I also tried to connect a rented rig of Betarigs, also unsuccessful.

I also deleted the "workers" and created new auto-workers, also unsuccessful.

only 3 rounds left with this round of incentives

Since the start of incentives the pool found 6 blocks and I remember you wrote that the bonus would have lasted 10 blocks.
So why there are only 3 rounds left? Shouldn't they be 4?

Beside that, Graet, could you please answer to the concerns about hashrate and share count I exposed in this post?

Today I've also noticed that there are more invalid than valid shares!
Check it by yourself here (this is a screenshot of the data I'm seeing, just in case).
Raw data is:
Quote
Current Round:
Round Dur.   1 Days 13 Hours 5 Minutes
Speed      1,555,822.29 GHash/s
Worker      122
User         75
Valid Sh.      10,094,874,140
Invalid Sh.      13,566,097,014
Est. Payout   25.21159654
Donation      2.05%
Eff.         42.66%
Maybe it has something to do with the "missing shares" mystery?

Could this be due to a stratum hashpower/share exploit run amok ?

Hello Graet longtime, grats again on the anniversary and i'm gonna be that guy and ask didn't the 10 rounds of giveaway start at block 307148 found by stinky 2014-06-22 04:56:09 his being the first in the givaway

By my count thats only just ten blocks now at block 317147 am i being out of line mate. I guess i just feel like i'm in the twighlight zone here because i count ten blocks  now but not before that block. meaning avhb found 7 not 6 blocks in the giveaway by my count. This is as of today but by the count you are saying in that post i've quoted right now that the 10 blocks of givaway started back with icedrillos last block 294379 back in may this year.

Its just i'm confused man can you clear it up for me, you are trying to say that after block 316827 davidcoggan 0.1BTC there is 3 more blocks of your giveaway and i don't believe thats true well not according to what you said when it started which was i believe just before stinky found a block at 307148 being the first in the epic giveaway you started.. anyhow hope you're well and feel free to let me know if i'm way out of line

There was an int() issue that made one large miners shares not appear in stats, we found and fixed the issue yesterday afternoon before BLOCK: 317122  was found.
The big miner in cn is not as stable as we/they would hope, their hashrate can be up and down as well as stale rates, being such a significant part of the pool they affect stats but not other miners.

Important: we have identified a bug in payouts that was introduced when we did database updates yesterday, currently recalculating - makeup payouts will be coming - this only affected blocks 317230 and 317147
Site out of maintanance mode
Please note
Scores will be inaccurate for a time due to database work, scores will recover, if block is found before scoring is back to normal Wayno will fix

For what its worth i vote for a payout change to prop. Being that i don't think pool hopping is at all an issue these days prop or pps is the best. My vote is prop and personally i'm not really phased by the fear of variance

G'day Graet,

Could you please clear this up

Do you know how many or what shares this new "Pentahash" miner was mining
over the last 7 blocks of your bonus?.

Because if you did, and your random share bonus was "random"

the odds of the outcome of the last 7 bonus blocks
was over thirty million to one

If you dont know what shares they mined how can you work out the payments

cheers
