Due to the extremely slow rounds/income on Ozcoin I thought I would try a different pool to see if there is any difference. Eclipse is a similar size pool (about 2.5-3Th), yet they solve 7 blocks some days (obviously very occasionally they take 15-24 hours to solve a block, but more often than not they solve 4-7 blocks pr day) - on average they are doing significantly better than Ozcoin (with a basic 1.2Ghash setup I am earning around 0.06Btc per day on EMC - yet on Ozcoin I was often not even earning 0.2Btc per day with the same machine hosting 2 x 7950s).

Is there any reason for this? I want to support the Aussie pool/guy and all, but money is money, and power here costs a bloody fortune. Even earning 0.06Btc a day I am only JUST covering power costs.

I notice the Ozcoin pool is currently only 384.77Ghash and the current round has been 1 day 10 hours so far - has everybody else had the same thoughts and jumped off?

i've noticed it too - but me and my ten gigs are here.

i don't post much, but this space for rent.

So the hashrate isn't really 384Ghs?  Or are there some servers down?

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?

384 seems about correct for the number of users and workers.

It seems bizarre to me that the last Ozcoin round went for 54 HOURS, and the current round has been going for 34 HOURS so far .... yet in the same period Eclipse solved 20 blocks - yes 20 blocks. I realise there is LUCK involved, no doubt - and people/groups have good and bad runs - but Ozcoin is currently sitting at 78 hours and has only solved 1 block in that time (one would hope that the next one is imminent - but with a pool size of 384Gh who knows?).

I am not trying to knock Graham nor Ozcoin down, but rather want to make sure I am understanding this properly. I know I am a noob, but would like to think I have my head wrapped around it correctly.

What is going on with the statistics and the rounds?

Is it bad luck or wonky servers?

there is, without any question in my mind, something wrong at ozcoin. i ran with about 10 ghash on it the last few days, and got maybe 40% the payout i should have, if that. i've switched to slush and in the last twelve hours already gotten more then the last two days from ozcoin.

Ozcoin is undoubtedly suffering by the bad luck, but is there something wrong with the pool?
I can't be sure but If I compare it with my devices without any single block found for 10 days (statistically it should find one around 4 days), I thing such bad luck happens.

I am NOT an Ozcoin rep.

I have no idea what was going on.  But things seem more normal now.

I hope Ozcoin can recover.  Ever since the hack, it seems to be much more unreliable now and the hashrate has plummeted making variance way higher as well.

It was a lil shaky for a bit, but it's been pretty stable for a while now, esp the last 2 weeks or more.

And there's only one thing people can do about the lowish hashrate. 3 guesses what that is. Wink Idk about you, but I'll keep my ASICs pointed here no problem.
