Concerns, and not with OzCoin.
I was with OzCoin for months a while back, and decided to try something different for a while. I recently came back with half of the machines I share with a partner. After giving enough time for DGM rewarding to kick in fully, I started doing some comparisons with the numbers in OzCoin and in this other pool. I found something that seems a bit alarming, but I want to make sure I'm thinking about this correctly. Can others please help me check my math and assumptions:
Pool Pool TH Pool GH My GH My Share % Est Rewards ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pool 1 1.39 TH 1390 10.31 0.007417266 0.15900253 BTC OzCoin 1.547 TH 1547 10.34 0.006683904 0.186400 BTC
If I am looking at these numbers correctly, I was doing 0.7% more relative work on pool 1, but for that same work, I was getting credited 17.4% less for that work in the rewards. Also, I am not aware of a fee charged by Pool 1, and know OzCoin charges 1%. Lastly, I am pretty sure DGM had fully 'kicked in', if you will, but if not, that would have been in Pool 1's favor, if anything.
Can anyone help me with what I'm missing here?
Thanks.
I think you already have your answer.

There's something called "variance" and "luck".

There's something called "variance" and "luck". There is. And how does that luck & variance factor into Estimated Rewards?

The time has come to restructure servers initially we will have downtime on us.ozco.in mining node and newlc.ozco.in (beta litecoin site) while we move them to a different server, planned for 00:01UTC Friday 15 February for getwork users please put eu.ozco.in as first failover for stratum miners stratum.ozco.in would be a good 1st failover
This will free up space to setup a new www/db server and retire the AU www/db server (the most expensive one) this will not affect au.ozco.in mining node
best wishes Graet

Wondering if any of you have any idea why when i use stratum my network gets super laggy takes a few mins to open simple pages 1x 5870 and 2x 7970s does it even if i only mine with the 5870. Getwork does not cause the lag at all seems like stratum is ok at first then after a while causes insane amount of lag 20Mbit/1Mbit internet.

Is it your whole network? Or is it just the connection on the machine you are running your miner on stratum? Also, which miner are you using?

Check your network and see what TCP port the majority of your traffic is on. Also do you have a consumer grade router? If so it may be buffer bloat. Sam

Has anyone else had a problem with their miners disconnecting/reconnecting fairly regularly? My internet connection is solid, but I get a couple stratum disconnects at least once or twice a minute. I don't think it's the pool's fault. I'm down to doing packet captures if someone else doesn't have any ideas (or if someone verifies that this is normal behavior).

not normal behaviour if you are up to doing some troubleshooting we will be happy to help packet captures and traceroutes can help from time to time we have noticed ISP routing causes issues - unfortunately upstream of both the pool and user so can be hard to fix cheers Graet

Just got this from the host of eustratum server
Unplanned Emergency Maintenance Event Details: Start Time: 2013-02-21 02:00:00 CET End Time: 2013-02-21 03:00:00 CET Impact: Expect a partial loss of service for 60 minutes
Activity Details: We were advised by our vendor to update the OS of one of our core routers. We will be performing an emergency software upgrade on our core routers at Global Switch in Frankfurt tonight. During the upgrade we will switch between the redundant routing engines and within that time-frame you should expect a short loss of service.
Hopefully this is also the cause of recent issues and will resolve them cheers Graet

Do you mean.. recent and ONGOING issues ?
During the last 2 months alone, this pool has cost miners a mountain of BTC/hashpower. They deserve compensation.

I'm sorry? one server had unexplained downtime on 2 occasions recently, we contacted our hosts for help and it has been stable, now I am passing on a message from our host that there will be downtime due to them doing updates. I always recommend miners set failover in their miners so in cases of unexpected downtime they do not lose income.
