Good advice. I would like to point out that when selling bitcoins for money with PayPal one person did try to reverse the transaction. I got an email from Paypal stating that the funds where on hold because the sender reported me as a scammer. Four ours later PayPal sent me another email stating that they ruled in my favor. This happened before i had noticed anything was wrong so I did nothing at all. I never had another incident sense. Basically, don't trust anybody offering a higher dollar price than normal.

I have over 800feedback on eBay trading with PayPal. The best advice I can give in regards to charge back is leave NOTHING in your PayPal account. If they decide to charge back, PayPal cannot take money from your bank account, only your PayPal account. If funds not available = funds cannot be rolled back. PayPal are useless on this matter.

No matter what proof you provide them, if they say the transaction was fraudulent, you lose. Some people are morons though, they will attempt to claim back using the "item not received". Screenshot's, email history etc will suffice.

Paypal will send your debt to a collection agency and in the US, some WILL bring you to court. A friend of mine was taken to court over around $800.

For gift and family, fees depend on the country and you can most certainly chargeback.

Well that is really, really poor on the behalf of PayPal. But I can confirm in Australia there are no fees for family/gift transactions.

If you sold an item on eBay, say Bitcoin, someone buys it and sends your their address via eBay message. You transfer the btc to their account. Its all locked in, proof of all steps have been secured why and how is it still possible to reverse the charge? eBay permits the sale of "virtual currency" surely PayPal should understand this, considering PayPal is now owned by eBay.

PayPal will consider all claims on their merits. If a seller shows us that they did provide the goods or services as described, we will reject the buyer’s claim. Sellers will benefit because of the extra confidence buyers will have when shopping for goods and services.

Our Buyer Complaint Process is a tool to help ensure a smooth, secure transaction for both the buyer and seller, and this process should not be abused. We closely monitor our customers’ use of the Buyer Complaint Process. If we find a buyer has filed an excessive number of buyer claims, we may close or limit access to that buyer’s account.

I've asked them twice but they seem to dodge the question. I stated in black and white, if I provided screenshots of the buyer showing me their address to where to send bitcoins to, then link the transaction which cannot be modified, ever, is that sufficient? This is the reply I got.

Has anyone here had success fighting off a scam charge back?

Its a standard Block answer, not even from a human. Call them or try to get bigger and be a business partner, not premier. THEN, probably with a chance of 0.00001%, you can claim something back or they decide with the same chance for you.

Money sent through PayPal and any other money transfer service that accepts credit cards can be easily reversed by the sender, even after several weeks. Therefore, you should only accept PayPal in trades with people you trust very highly.

This is why newbies are not likely to sell their PayPal USD for bitcoins successfully.

Some other services that are not totally safe:
- Bank transfers (ACH, etc.) except wire transfers
- Most gift cards.
- Moneypak
- AlertPay
- Paysafecards
- Dwolla
- Western Union (they reportedly will sue the recipient to recover money in some cases)

I think that trades using Unverified Paypal accounts should be disallowed on the forums because they are the easiest and I meant the easiest to chargeback .
Also you may wanna add Payoneer & Neteller to that List I guess PerfectMoney is the only one that have no Chargebacks besides to BTC of course
