Got two 13.5th today . They were on oct 25 firmware. Saw the nov 2 firmware and installed on one.
Boards ran hot, fan was at 20%. Temps were 108c. Rolled back to oct 27, temps cooler.
They do run quietly at 20% fan but those temps are too scary for me.
They still cycled the fan speed. No hwe.

victim by victim their stories are told.  On def ears they fall as the stories get old...  wip but I think you all get the drift. Anymore now it's like Russian roulette. Which of us few forum users left can they put the screws too. It's a bit disheartening to see. But ehh when ya run a monopoly and there are no laws this is what you get.  Hell we have laws in america and look at att recently. You think them wanting to combine with time warner and their latest acquisition of Directv is in our favor your sadly mistaken.

Looks like they have a fix upgrade download now.

I see it!  Anyone know how to use it?  The instructions are not exactly clear.

EDIT: Well I uploaded the fix package just like I would a regular firmware and I have had a spinning wheel with this ever since:

Upload firmware image ...

(please wait a minute)

Been around 10 minutes I think.  I can access the gui with another computer and everything appears more or less normal from there but I don't know if it is really doing something or not.  I guess I'll give it an hour or so and then try to upload another regular firmware package.

Well the fix package did allow me to update the firmware again so that's something.  Meanwhile back to the same problems I had before. Notice the LSTIME number as well as the hashrate.  It goes minutes without submitting a share.  No way that should be happening.

So they are going downhill with the quality.
I don't like all this info about problems with the autofreq models, so that's why I ordered another S9 11.85Th/s regular model from www.eastshore.xyz. This is my second order from them, first one came nicely and it is beefy one with 662Mhz OC 14.1Th/s  Smiley

Just taken a look at their website. It says the "Customs Declaration" for the S9 11.85Th is $90. Did you have this with your orders HagssFIN? As that's half the problem if I were to order direct from Bitmain. Id get stung for customs duty and VAT for hundreds of pounds (GBP).

Check out the hashrate on this one!  Too bad all those shares are apparently under 1k.  No valid shares for 3 minutes.  This is an entirely different pool than the one where this was happening in my previous post.

You may have tried this, but have you flashed different firmware? Sorry didn't read back through everything if you have.

Heh.  That's kind of funny actually.  Yes this is the 4th firmware I have tried.  I was actually stuck on Nov 1st firmware for a minute there since it wouldn't allow me to flash a different one after I put it on there but they released a fix for that problem.

I am inclined to think this is a controller problem since it doesn't seem to be a problem that different firmware is fixing.  But I don't know.  Completely unlike anything I have ever seen before.

EDIT:  OMFG I think I just earned a lifetime membership to the stupid club.  It was an IP address conflict.  I kept putting it on a static IP that was in use.  It is an IP that used to have an S5 on it quite a ways back but I forgot that I had put an ether mining rig on it.  I have a spreadsheet and it was recorded in there, I just wasn't checking it.  I have an old browser favorite left over from the S5 so I was just using that.  So my aggravation was a result of my own stupidity.  But now the miner is working fine so I got that going for me  Cheesy

What do Bitmain put on the Customs Declaration when they send the miners? Do they list the real value of the equipment or do the "adjust" it to help customers out?

Only reason I ask is that the customs duty would kill me having a new miner (which is needed as I would like to make a profit for once).

They put the real value and it sucks as the VAT is 24% in Finland   Cry

They damn well should be listing value as what it was bought for. Listing at a lower value is highly illegal and if/when caught by the receivers country will result in hefty fines and good chance the company would be banned from shipping to that country.

Well that definitely sucks then as (like you HagssFIN) its 20% here plus fees by the postal service for doing the "paperwork" for it.

You're right. I would point my criticism more towards the Government of Finland.

edit: In other news, I guess Bitmain is manufacturing a lot of S9's at the moment.

Blame Finland, I don't even pay $10.00 in the U.S.

They do run quietly at 20% fan but those temps are too scary for me.
They still cycled the fan speed. No hwe.

Good until 30 days no activity.

How are you doing 20% fan?
With autotune firmware  the fan speed is set automatically like the frequency.

Crap, another board has gone up.
Looks like the same symptoms as the last one they fixed for me.
Last one was no warranty, cost $175+$25 shipping.

@Sierra8561 If you scroll to the bottom of the kernel log the last 7 lines show the temps and fan speed.  If you refresh that page those 7 lines will refresh values so you can see what fan speed the autotune is selecting.

This is the third time someone has hacked a dormant 100% positive feedback ebay account to sell antminer s9 +psu+ free overnight shipping.
They start the auction on Friday and run it for 3 days.
When you pay with paypal they reverse the transaction and force you to pay with bitcoin.
Bye Bye bitcoin. Ebay account was hacked.

NEW Bitmain Antminer S9 Bitcoin Miner, 12.93 Th/s & APW3-12-1600 PSU
eBay item number:112193604061

This is a live auction, ebay is dragging their feet for the THIRD time in as many weeks for the same auction, same price, same pictures.

Please be careful.

EDIT: Finally looks like they took it down.
