Did anybody update to 11-25 firmware? I know that people liked 11-19, but it is not available anymore.
I've upgraded both my S9's without issues. Fan speed does seem better and more stable. For what it's worth these are batch 13 units.

I just upgraded one of my units. It appears the resting fan speed was reduced from 4,440 to 4,320. Thanks. Interesting...my autotuning 11th (not sure re batch #) unit has one fan at 3800 and second at 2080 with chip temp in 70iesC. 11.85 Th units (B10 and 12) have chip temp at 80-90C. Seem to be OK too. Did anybody observe any improvement in earlier (B1-12) batches with recent firmware? Maybe, i don't even need an update, but not sure. Did anybody update to 11-25 firmware? The latest firmware.. Or the last few? Have you set the Freq for autotune on install, so you could downclock an s9, but would need to reflash the FW every time you want to chnge Freq. As it can only be done on initial install.

So my batch 21 13.5 s9 purchased from Bitmain Colorado 5 Nov was actually getting pretty decent numbers, took a look at it one morning and pow, one board not hashing…power down/up multiple times etc etc .. no change, contacted Colorado, sent them the appropriate screen shots, they offered an exchange of the entire unit, bundled it up and shipped it off yesterday. I don’t recall reading anyone else exchanging an entire unit, could this be the beginnings of EXCELLENT customer service?

Tried to update b12 to 11-25 firmware and the spinning wheel never stopped. After reboot miner is on the same old firmware. Maybe I did not have enough patience? It is a 38.8mb file and I have to upload it to hosting (who knows what the speed is). Did anybody had to wait more than a couple of min? Additionally, does new firmware reduce chip temp a little? I have one miner that has PCB at 57-62, but chip is at 92-95.

It reduces it yes, Stops the spin up as well. It can take 10 or 15 to update, rebooting it while in an upgrade is a really good way to brick a machine.. you got lucky.

I don't think that update even started...wheel was spinning with a message: contacting .... On S7 all updates took a minute or two. if miner was actually updating the soft, I would not reboot, but i checked on another pane and it was mining. Not sure that it would even take an update. Will try tomorrow and wait for 20min and see what happens.

I upgraded my b11 S9 to 1125 fw. Noticed the temperature columns reported changed. I no longer see readings in Temp(Chip1) column. Only Temp(Chip2) has readings. BTW can someone elaborate what Chip1 and 2 mean?

Looks like you can downgrade from 11-25 to 7-13 if things don't play on older s9's Have an 11.85 that I tried to upgrade to 11-25 but bmminer version did not show up, just blank on system page, miner would not start to hash. Booted ok. Rolled back to 7-13 and things were fine. Some older s9's will not work on the new firmware.
Like I said before, you can mix and match autotune hashboards in older s9's and use the new 11-25 firmware and the hashboards that are autotune WILL autotune, non autotunes just lock in their standard freq.
11-25 firmware working well for me.
Have same issue with chip1-chip2
I think 11-2 firmware would cause you not to be able to upgrade. They had a 'fix' upgrade that you would have to do first then do regular upgrade but it is gone now from the support site.
Bitmainwarranty.com is the bomb. Excellent.

About two weeks ago they sold out of the latest batches. They sold out within hours of being put on sale.

Incase anyone was wondering. The S9 can be made quieter if you want to underclock it. I've got mine running at 200m pulling 430w at the wall getting 4.2Th and it's nicely located under my desk.

Yeah, I'm running one of mine S9's at 9.8Th/s (456.25 Mhz) with a bearable noise level. I use it with the Enermax Revolution 87+ 1000W PSU. I use a manual fan setting.

I have 1 blade in a case fans at 38% clocked at 475 vs 600 I get about 3500th at 350 watts. it would use 950 to 1000 watts vs 1350 to 1400 watts. 1000 watts is close to 3400 btu the middle setting on this kind of heater https://www.walmart.com/ip/15137037?

The miner temperatures depend on the fan setting and your hosting conditions. I can't give you an "universal answer" that would work in any situation. I could however describe it as "a 1kW radiator." At the moment I can see ~60C PCB temps for the miner.

I'm running all three boards. Heat wise it will keep the room warm (only a small room) no problem. Waiting on a replacement fan for the rear as it's bottomed out at 2400rpm whereas the front is down to 1680rpm.
Temps are 45-48pcb and around 70chip iirc. Would like to get it up a bit more so when the new fan turns up I may up the freq slightly to keep it running warmer.
Needless to say I don't need any additional heating in the room, radiator is turned off and it's still 20c which is perfect.

To bad the controller boards were not easy to get. Once could effectively pull the three blades out and make 3 individual 4TH miners, that would be cooler, custom cooling system. And spread out the heat. Hmm... Where could someone buy the controllers?
