every time i restart my miner (xmr-stak for mining LOKI), it removes the miner directory and also the config files (amd.txt). This way I can not edit the config file, as it will always delete and remake it.
Is there a work-around for this? I would love to change the gpu threads config.
Here ya go! https://youtu.be/0ty93_0CKtIVery good workaround this... Watched the video and seems the only way to start fresh is to remove the miner directory in root first, then follow the instructions in the video - unless you start with a brand new SMOS USB stick.

Yeah - if you want a fresh start. But if you haven't messed with anything in the /root/miner_org directory, you should be able to copy the modified amd.txt file either from your PC or from /var/tmp/miner/xmr-stak-v2.4.7-cuda9.1 to the /root/miner_org/xmr-stak-v2.4.7-cuda9.1 directory even if you have already downloaded/installed the miner by assigning it to a rig in Dashboard and restarting.

Is there a easy way to tell what version of the USB image you have a rig on? I've updated some flash drives to recent versions, but can't remember which one's I've already done.

Looking for a ” Miner OPTIONS” configuration for CryptoNight-Heavy that makes the AMD RX580 8GB cards run with their peak performance. Under Windows 10 with SRBMiner these cards run around 950 H/s per card, but in SMOS they end up around 660 H/s in both XMRig and XMR-Stak, so if someone know which setting I need to add to the configuration in SMOS to solve this speed issue that would be great.

Yeah I need one also, I think its a threads issue 2 vs 1. +1 We need to be able to run 2 threads. How can we do this SMOS developers? Pagedown a few posts - there is a Youtube that shows you how to enable double threads in SMOS using xmr-stak. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1541084.msg46741144#msg46741144

Here ya go! https://youtu.be/0ty93_0CKtIThanks :-) Doing it manually is an option, but I was hoping there would be a more automatic solution that doesn’t require people to edit each rig they have. Maybe the SMOS developers can add some command line switch that does the same thing during compiling.
