Phil - if you have rigs that show the "300/300" thing..... if you upgrade to this kernel - will it go away? Thanks

the 300/300  seems to occur if it is clocked a bit off

I will see if I can make it show by moving core higher

Phil - if you have rigs that show the "300/300" thing..... if you upgrade to this kernel - will it go away? Thanks

the 300/300  seems to occur if it is clocked a bit off. Try to change clocks or see if with higher or lower dpm it will gone.

I will see if I can make it show by moving core higher

The 300/300 is meaby becasue it it experimental powerstage.
Right now if we have for example

0: 300Mhz
1: 466Mhz
2: 751Mhz
3: 1019Mhz
4: 1074Mhz
5: 1126Mhz
6: 1150Mhz
7: 1230Mhz

And we will set 4 DPM stage to for example 1150, then the table will look like:
0: 300Mhz
1: 466Mhz
2: 751Mhz
3: 1019Mhz
4: 1150Mhz <--- this had higher MHz than 5 DPM
5: 1126Mhz

6: 1150Mhz
7: 1230Mhz

I think that kernel dont like this experimenting situations Cheesy
Wolf0 confirmed me that kernel doesnt like this.
Anyway this is possible reason, and accually it could be something else.
I wan to test it by doing some more scripting so if we want 4 dpm level to be 1150 MHZ then  next DPMs stage should have bigger clocks, and lower dpms should have lower clocks.
This is what i want to try in my scripts.

0: 300Mhz
1: 466Mhz
2: 751Mhz
3: 1019Mhz
4: 1150Mhz <-- we are using this DPM and setting 1150 clocks to it
5: 1160Mhz <-- this needs to be bigger
6: 1170Mhz <-- this needs to be bigger
7: 1230Mhz <-- this needs to be bigger

BUT ITS "MEABY" Cheesy

LOL... yes "meaby"

currently my RX480 even with custom low power rom runs best on powerstage 2, on no powerstage (ie. =7) I get less hash, but powerstage 2 gets me another 10MH for ETH mining. My settings, 1100/2125

In my observation, i can overclock memory a bit more than previous driver, so you can guys check this as well.

My 470 Are 1130/1850 1500 strap and powerstate of 0
Completely stable same speeds as any other powerstate then 7.. 7 gives lower
Could over clock more to 1945 easy and get another 15ish mhash

Try overclocking memory, it could propably take more than previous amd driver Smiley
Powerstage doesnt make hashing speed faster, it only makes usage less voltage and it could in some point make it unstalbe.
For example you can use powerstage 0 with 1200 MH in core Smiley

First of all, thank you Tytanick for your tremendous work with this project. I love how it works and how easy makes running immediately a new rig. If you finally decide to implement a fee system (a $1/month/rig as you mentioned or whatever) I will still support you as I would consider it completely fair.

I tried to upgrade the kernel in a new rig I am still setting up. It is a 2x RX470 rig, not BIOS modded yet and I am not overclocking the memory as I am still experimenting settings:

- Old kernel:  44,9MHs @ 278W  . 1100/1650, powerstage=1
- New kernel: 45,5MHs @ 280W  . 1100/1650, powerstage=1

Could you please have an indicator that shows you are on the new beta kernel?

Yes i wil do that, today i count not finish this.
Anyway kernel version you can check by hovering over Rig version on dashboard.
I will also make it in few days on whcih amd driver you are.
Anyway i just released this amd driver as default image on main page.
All guys you have old amd driver do once you will click kernel upgrade ... reboot ... amd upgrade .... reboot .. you will have all up to date.
But yes, i will make that clear for everyone on which version you are. Those are beta tests Smiley

Hi, i will upload older version so you can download it and test (it will auto update to the newest anyway, but we will cross out image corruption)
https://simplemining.net/download/
It will show up here in 10 minutes from now.
it will be named: R-v1074

Anyway you can check version of you AMDGPU driver curently installed in each rig.
Default version was 16.30, and the beta new button makes it 16.60

I've only had one issue, but I believe it was my own impatience in rebooting one rig when I thought it may be stuck.  All have had a very slight speed increase.  I am testing to see if it fixes some of the restarts caused by 300/300 clocks.
