So with the new antminer z9 equihash miner coming out I think it would be a great benefit if SMOS could increase the scope of 1080 cards to improve ethereum hashrates with the ethlargement pill code built into SMOS. What are the chances that could happen? Thanks!

Hello, i have been using SMOS for many months now. It's been awesome! Very stable and less hassle compared to using windows.

I have encountered issues recently thou. Sometimes overclocking AMD cards doesn't seem to work properly on all the cards. Let's say i set Core to 1080, Memory to 2100. Only 5 out of 8 cards will have the OC Setting.
Even if all video cards the same model/brand its causing this issue. Mixing other AMD models also causes this problem.
After rebooting rig/reload miner via SMOS Site. It still doesn't fix it. The only way to fix it is manually turning off via power supply, then turning on mining rig manually. Then all cards the cards will overclock properly.
Maybe you can check the overclock code and maybe add a "real reboot" command? make the rig restart like a real computer? hard reset (showing the bios screen like restarting on/off a normal pc then detecting the flash drive again).

Hi,

I tried "OhGodAnETHlargementPill-r2" with my 6 x 1080ti, but I only went from 35Mh/s to 40Mh/s. Anyone else in my case ?

Mystery solved !
It seems I had a very old version of SimpleMining on this rig since it was running for a very long time. So I flashed a newer version and now I go from 35MH/s to 51Mh/s. Excellent !

Hello,

How did you manage to use OhGodAnETHlargementPill-r2 on smos?

Thanks

1. You need to connect to your rig with ssh.
2. Open a screen with : screen
3. Type : sudo /root/utils/OhGodAnETHlargementPill -revA 0,1,2,3 (where 0, 1, 2, 3 are the ids of the GPU)
4. Detach the screen with : Ctrl + A + D (so it can run in background in the screen)

On step 4 you say it can run in the background screen. Does this mean we need to keep the SSH window open?

Thanks

Any AMD cpu can cause problems on linux rigs.
Anyway there is almost no definition of bottleneck caused by CPU under windows as all computing operatons are done on GPU and cpu is needed for much easier tasks Smiley

Still not been added. What a f*** joke support. Glad I left and didn`t wait for 7.0.

I still don't understand why you always choose to answer only some of the questions, specially the ones that are not uncomfortable for you. There have been 5-6 people asking you to implement OhGodAnETHlargementPill as a button, or something else that doesn't need ssh, and you didn't even bother to answer(estimation, negative, affirmative, NOTHING)....

I simply can not understand....

I have two questions about SMOS?

- What does it mean don't assign a public ip address to your rig? What if i have a static IP from my isp

-is there any other cost than $2 a month? what miner does SMOS use? Does it use Claymore? if so, what about the Dev fee?

Hi,

I read through some of the thread, but it's very long. Does this have the capability to flash my cards (RX 580) or do I need to perform this on my own? Thx

To the first question - public access means bots can login to the miner via ssh. You probably know what you're doing to do that. As long as you plug it in your network on the inside of a firewall, you have a private IP address. Don't port forward ssh to the miner.

cost: $2/month is for the SMOS software only. Any mining dev fees are separate. SMOS bundles many miners so you have your choice.

I'm having trouble getting SMOS to apply the power limits that I enter. My system includes 5 gpus, all Nvidia, 1x1080ti, 3x1060, 1x1050.

Yesterday I rebuilt the rig on an aluminum frame (taking it out of a tower box with gpus helter skelter). Now the hash rate is significantly reduced. I'm using the exact same components, mobo, gpus, psus, risers, etc.

I think the issue is in the power limit part, because when I watch the start up from a monitor, it seems to ignore the values I enter - somewhat. My overclock settings are:
Core: 93,200,200,200,200
Memory: 250,650,650,650,650
Power: 250,75,55,75,75

Here's what I see on the terminal on start:
Code:
===== OVERCLOCKING =====
Applying CoreOffset: 93 Memory Offset: 250 for GPU 0 with GPU Type: 3
Available power limit for GPU 0 is 60.00 W, 140.00 W
Applying PowerLimit: 140 watt for GPU 0
Applying CoreOffset: 200 Memory Offset: 650 for GPU 1 with GPU Type: 3
Applying PowerLimit: 75 watt for GPU 1
Applying CoreOffset: 200 Memory Offset: 650 for GPU 2 with GPU Type: 3
Applying PowerLimit: 55 watt for GPU 2
Applying CoreOffset: 200 Memory Offset: 650 for GPU 3 with GPU Type: 3
Applying PowerLimit: 140 watt for GPU 3
Applying CoreOffset: 200 Memory Offset: 650 for GPU 4 with GPU Type: 3
Applying PowerLimit: 75 watt for GPU 4

Any idea why it looks like my power limit settings are being ignored/changed?

Update: after fiddling with the SMOS settings for the rig, and MANY restarts, I got the hash rate 98% back, but I still see the power limit stuff as above. So the stated power limit isn't being used? The hash rate is what I want, but it seems really finicky to get it. All I did with the fiddling is changing settings this way and that. Now the settings are:
Core: 93,200
Memory: 250,650
Power: 250,100
Essentially the same, but results slightly different.

On step 4 you say it can run in the background screen. Does this mean we need to keep the SSH window open?

Here's what I did so it automatically starts when the miner boots:

1. SSH into the miner, type the following:
     sudo vim /etc/rc.local
2. edit the file by adding the ETHlargement command above the miner script. Here's what mine looks like below (FYI, to edit the file with vim, type "a" on your keyboard, then edit the file as normal, hit "Esc" on your keyboard when done, then type":wq" hit Enter and it'll save. Make sure you have the "&", it's important and makes the command run in the background and stay running.

----------
#!/bin/sh
#
# rc.local
#
# This script is executed at the end of each multiuser runlevel.
# Make sure that the script will "exit 0" on success or any other
# value on error.
#
# In order to enable or disable this script just change the execution
# bits.
#
# By default this script does nothing.

sudo /root/utils/OhGodAnETHlargementPill &
bash /root/utils/rclocal.sh &

exit 0
~
~
---------
DONE!
reboot the miner by typing "sudo reboot", BAM problem solved.

so basically do not forward any port? and have a firewall?

simplemining does not apply powerlimit! please help  Cry
it shows OC and 190 powerlimit at each gpu on startup but real powerlimit is all over the place.
12 gpu 1080ti rig

ccminer alexis lyra2v2. i itried other ccminers too.

powerlimit set 190w and i get 143W or 160w only

It is OK.
Just look at your core clock. It is 1500Mh/s. You need 2000 to get normal speed.
You cant get 190 watts with such clocks. Only if you rise to 1,5v core voltage. But I dont think you need it.

smos sets its own powerlimit of 140w instead of 190. cards are hashing 45mh instead of 65. whith such wrong low powerlimit rigs crash also

Anyone having problems with p104-100 on SMOS? Somehow my cards sometimes falls back to 607mhz clock, and i have to reboot rigs.
