I'd suggest trading over investing. I think with trading you can earn more in short time too if you choose the timing of buy/sell wisely and there is a stroke of luck with you too.
Analyze alts, go with reliable coins first, which are high on the market cap list. For the platform I'd recommend poloniex or bitrex. I think these are the top two options available at the moment.

Well that totally depends on what kind of investments ! Trading on its own is a investment . I will assume by saying investment you mean ICO . Trading is very profitable if you are really knows what you are doing , Now when it comes to ICO at this point with the number of ICOs starting daily , There is really very small % that worth investing in , The others is just pure useless . My opinion is to invest in trading and maybe mining and just leave small % of your money for when you find a really good project to invest in .

200 dollar are more than enough to start all kind of things to grow your bitcoin, obviously the more money the easier to begin to make money, but one that is free is to join a signature campaign and make some additional money that way, for the rest I will probably invest it in a promising ICO and make money that way.

Yeah if you don't have capital to invest in trading then you can start earning it from signature campaign which will help you in building up your capital and once you have saved good amount of bitcoins you can use them in trading where you will always have an opportunity to grow them in quick time.

It's a matter on how you manage your money and if you are given the opportunity to earn even if you did not invest any amount then you should be grateful and think of ways to maximize your income. i think that it is depending on one experience, in fact if a person have good experience in trading, then he can really show good result in trading and therefore his all interest will be in trading, but if a person do not have good experience in trading then i think investment is the best option for him, because there he really do not need for such a good experience, he just need to invest their money and then wait for the right time to sell and get some profit.

I suggest that you invest in ethereum coin because the value of it is periodically increasing and i think this coin is the safest to invest in. While waiting for your coin to grow, Try to work from bounty campaigns or do some translations to maximize your earnings.
