Hello everyone,

I was just introduced to Bitcoin a month ago and I'm already hooked! I already got some and I'm planning to create a local exchange site for my country by the end of the year so I spend a lot of time on the forums to learn as much as I can  Smiley.

Learning all I can about BTC. I have a technical background, but not in the computing hardware arena.

I wouldn't mind building a rig, but with the coming advent of ASIC (I am looking to invest in ASIC!, too), I don't think it would help except for educational purposes... So, in order to get mining before the difficulty goes up tenfold, I need to purchase something for the time being.

Maybe I should start a thread as to not hijack this one.

I wish I would have listened to the guys on the Daily Paul a couple of years ago... (sigh)

Hey my name is Carl
I have been mining for about 2 months now, built a rig and started trading with bitcoins. I absolutely love the the idea of bitcoins and I have been using these forums for the immense amounts of knowledge I just recently decided to sign up and contribute!

If I would have known about the newbie restriction I would have signed up ages ago and my logged time fill up.

Hi all

Been mining now for about a month.  I have a background in computers, don't know why I haven't looked into bitcoin before.  Finding the forums have a wealth of knowledge and have enjoyed lurking over the past few weeks. Being a coin collector I'm very interested in the Casascius 1 BTC Coin.

'allo all.

I'm a software developer for a company (easy to find out), that put a small negative spotlight on Bitcoin recently... which consequently made me re-check it out and realize I missed an early "value-investment" chance and should hop on the opportunity.

In my spare time I like tinkering with networking stacks and cryptography and am always looking for small projects to do. Would love to do small r&d work for BTC Wink

Stumbled into this board when looking for ways to get some free BTC to check out my blockchain.info wallet and someone was giving BTC for beta testing (and consequently confused that I couldn't post until I realized I had to meet criteria to get out of newb jail).

So.. yeah.. feel free to message me if you want to sling work my way... I develop hardware crypto interface stacks... so if there's any interest there... I'd love to help (imagine: a smart-card token that has your wallet private key - great way to have "semi-cold" storage). Though... don't think I know of any tokens that use curve 256k1 :-/

If you find any of my contributions valuable, don't hesitate to tip Wink

lo all,

i was changing money from LR to STP and fees go up as high as 9%. my eye fell on the fee costs for bitcoins which were 0% so I had a look into it.

tried bitcoin client but downloading the blockchain takes ages so I now i'm using electrum.

heck, i even started mining bitcoins in a bitpool

i like the idea of decentralized payments, the banks are making a mess and the goverment involvements are to big anyway. hooray for bitcoins!

I'm new to board, been eyeing BTC for a couple years.  I'm now a new investor and new miner of bitcoins.  We will see how this plays out.

As Europe financial institutions crumble, bitcoin may stand as a savior and safe zone for people who save money and are responsible with their finances.
