I'm new to bitcoins and bitcoin mining (2 days).  I have a background both in computer science and in equities trading/algorithmic trading.  I'm wondering if I'm too late to the mining scene, given that asics are here or imminent.  Currently playing around with an HD7770 board, getting 200Mh/sec.  Electric rates are not an issue for me (have access to free).  Wondering if I should pick up some used fpga boards.  I calculate that I'll recoup in 2 - 3 months, but wondering if difficulty will increase by then....

Hello fellow bitcoiners,

I'm a small miner from june 2011 and sold my first bitcoin for 14$ made with old 5770. Since then managed to byu 3 5850's and mined some coins, but diff raise and one card broken after a while made my operation harder. Last winter had to sell coins for 2-3$ to pay for elektricity, and not feeling very lucky for beeing informed and clever to find out about bitcoins after all.

Asking you to donate some of your assets if you feel luckier than I am now, small amount is enough. Thanks in advance, no hard feelings if you're not feeling rich enough to donate Smiley

Proud owner of two sapphire 5850 oc'd to 950/300 ~750MH

plan: invest some btc to pyramining (already lost 2btc with deposit directly from mtgox to pyra, stupid!)

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum, and would like to say hello. At the moment I'm reading all the available guides to see if I can get a grasp of the whole concept. Thanks for all the useful information and for maintaining such a helpful forum.

All the best,
Boricode.

I think bitcoin is genius, which is why I'm hopeful for the long term and want to contribute to building the economy once I have the possibility.

HI,

My name is hazzadis. Only recently found out about the bitcoin. At the moment i am trying to use bitcoin as a bit of a play area for learning how to trade and by shares. I guess i decided to use the bitcoin area because One you can mine your own coins and TWO its a new market place so as the market place matures and grows so hopefully i can as well. Out side of the computers im really into my motorbikes. I own a cbr600rr and a crf450.

Thanks

Hello

This is one of my five posts so I can actually participate else where on the forum. Seems like big goverrnment really likes making rules for everybody to control a handful of basketcases.

Anyhow I'm building a rig and my next Newbie post will be about dummy plugs. Seems appropriate since I'm being treated like one.
