The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

I've been following BTC for a couple of years but it wasn't until I wanted to play a poker tournament on Seals With Clubs that I bought a couple.  Bought at $17 but with fees and crap (bitinstant) I ended up with 1.9 BTC (I needed two for entry).  Played table games until I had 2+ coins and entered the tournament.  I didn't cash and was bummed our that I had lost all my coins but hey, it was a fun experiment!

Fast forward a few weeks and BTC are at $50.  I checked my account and I didn't actually lose ALL of my coins, I still had 0.1 coins left!  Well, back to the tables and I have almost 0.5 BTC now so in terms of USD I'm actually ahead a little although that'd be by some shady book keeping.  I never thought exchange risk would come into play with poker bankroll management Smiley

don't be so negative, the 5-post-4-hour-rule is there for a reason: to get rid of the trolls. NOT to piss newcomers off.

relax take it easy and smile. Cheesy

Hello all. I've been following Bitcoin since early 2011. After it crashed that summer I lost track of it for a while, but have been back with a passion for a few months now. I certainly think it has promise.

I'm an illustrator and animator by trade and would love to work on some bitcoin-backed projects.

my 3rd newbie post

Found out about BTC maybe 2 months ago, since then prices shot up. I will watch the fireworks with interest. In the end, a large part of community has to draw the short stick, it always like this.

Hello, I'm Whik.

Been playing around with BTC for a while now.  Mostly just buying it up and saving it.  Thinking about maybe getting into mining at some point especially with the value climbing as steeply as it is.

I've been writing about BitCoin for a while on http://payglo.be and http://stakeventures.com.

Was involved with the first batch of crypto currencies in the late 90's.
