Holy Shh...t 500 pages long! Shocked

Hello everyone!

I'm new to bitcoin, I have been folowing it for about a year and finally i decide that it's time to get my hands dirty, yesterday i setup a virtual machine for my wallet and my first attempt of mining rig working at 500mhash (crappy, i know, but it's just to learn until I start to play with the big toys)

I'm very interesed in the FPGA and ASIC development, as I am a low level microcontroller programmer and electronics fanatic and I am already doing some tests for other uses too Cheesy

I liked the limited access for beginners, that will reduce the spam level consideably Smiley
hope make some friends on the way too!

Ain't nothing wrong with practice, just make sure your not wasting electricity.

If you haven't already found one, there is a few calculators that will give you an estimated earning figure for the current difficulty.

Hope that helped!

please do so! and get a post Smiley
don't be so negative, the 5-post-4-hour-rule is there for a reason: to get rid of the trolls. NOT to piss newcomers off.

relax take it easy and smile. Cheesy

Thank you for your reply!
I have played around with those calculators, I know I won't get far with only 2 GPU's, but I have to start from bottom to top and make my way up Smiley will add more cards soon, and learn about FPGA in the meantime.

In my area electricity is not very expensive and we have a weak currency, so BTC is a GOOD GOOD thing! Cheesy

I am actually using 320W (with 2x HD7850 ) but will lower that to 240-250 when I change the processor (phenom II X4 for a athlon II X2 (125W TDP to 65W TDP)).

Hey ppl, I'm Mike.
Been checking out bitcoin every now and again for about 2 years now and its come a long way! Wish I jumped on board when I first heard about it now! I nearly bought into some asics but decided the investment was too high. Maybe when something else comes along I'll jump on that. Time to dust off the old mining rig and get into litecoins I think.

Hello all.

I'm a long-time BitCoin holder, but only recently registered to the forum. I'm middle aged, a lifelong anarchist, and naturally, a big supporter of decentralized currencies.

Hello all; figured I'd try to get a post count going as my whitelist request(s) seem to be getting ignored.  =)

Wish there was a more elegant method of troll control than this...

Hi all, I'm Kel, I'm from AUS was looking at putting my savings on Bitcoin at $12AU but hesitated.. I have been hospitalised for months and have missed the Bitcoin train unfortunately having cancer here in AU, decent treatmemt cost me my life savings, I am 22 and have more surgery coming in 6 months, I pray the 15BTC I have managed to accumulate will tenfold within 6 months, any donations would be deeply appreciated.

Hello all! I'm NubainCidem. I'm new here, obviously. But have tinkered with bitcoins for quite a while now. The recent 500% strengthening of the BTC vs the USD has been amazing. I'm excited to be back, and start making some money!

Hi All,
Usually browsing through the posts for info and news on bitcoin world. Exciting times coming... good luck to all of you Smiley

Lol, get me outta BtcTlk jail too... Hello noobs and guru's.  I just stumbled up BTC at the beginning of 3-2013.  Holy Cow!! What a ride its been : ) I set up my new eBayed Mac Pro and put in a 5770 and have Bitminter running @149ish Mh/s.  My question is should I put the old Radeon 1xxx back in slot 2 even though bitMinter wouldn't recognize it?  I've been trying to run DiabloMiner on osX.7.4 to no avail.  Any thoughts would be swell.   PS I just drank the BFL 30Gh/s juice and don't care tee hee.  I like their low power platform.
Cheers!!
