Seriously? 355 pages! … I wonder who will read this .. OK well I’m NoWhammies, I’m a noob that just Googled “How to mine bitcoins” & clicked on the first link entitled “Beginners Guide to Mining Bitcoins” (startbitcoin.com). It instructed me first to get a “Wallet”. I did that, encrypted it, then somehow found bitcoin.cz and installed “Bitcoin miner” on my computer. I choose “Kiv’s GUI miner”. Then I Sighed up with a bitcoin.cz account, logged in, entered my wallet address, registered, then copied and pasted http://api.bitcoin.cz:8332 in the address bar, clicked the forward arrow (Internet Explorer 9), and it asked me for a name and password. I gave my worker1 name and password and that didn’t work. I then gave my bitcoin.cz name and password and that didn’t work…
So now I’m basically wondering if anyone out there who has experience on getting up and running is willing to talk to me about it on Teamspeak, or even Ventrilo. … Is there a TS or Vent room up now?

What's up NoWhammies? I had a similar problem but it was fixed by using the method provided on this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=49966.0.
Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I'm a long-time lurker who figured I better finally sign up and get past the hump of the sandbox in order to be able to comment on interesting projects and other topics.

Glad to be here, I am the founder of the Gold and Silver Financial news letter. I run a network of gold and silver blogs. Naturally I was attracted to the bitcoins!

New to bitcoin, found out about it a while back, but forgot as I was busy with other things.  Looking around a playing a bit with some very light capital to see where things go.

Hey all, how's it going? I'm new here, just trying to get the feel of things. I like to joke around, have fun and keep my brother-in-law from throwing scrambled eggs at my granny--hence the name.

Hello, BTC community! I am new to BTC but I'm already a big fan. I am interested in building a site that in some way uses BTC, but I'm not sure what exactly to build. If you have a suggestion, please let me know!

Hi everybody... I'm not necessarily new to bitcoins, but I've actually dived into mining now and I'm an active forum reader here.

Hi.

I have been lurking for a while and I figured it is about time to join in on the action. Bitcoin trading interests me and it's hard to buy and sell on the forums without an account.  Smiley

Long time lurker, bitcoin owner and bull, and political theorist. Hope to have some useful discussions on here and perhaps contribute explanatory tools that will help clarify bitcoin for regular people.
