Hello everybody I'm from Finland and I got interested in Bitcoin for various reasons. I'm affiliated with the Zeitgeist Movement so I'm clearly interested in anything different from the establishment. I'm also a semi-professional poker player looking to find other ways besides poker to stay away from the rat race so whatever extra income I get from this is appreciated. Started with investing some money in hardware, currently my mining capacity is a little bit over 2 ghash. I have also bought some coins directly as an investment. In the future I hope to be able to actually spend them as well, when goods and services that I need become available for coins. I'm also planning to startup some services of my own in the near future. The Finnish people seem to be fairly interested in Bitcoin so it's a good market out here for anything Bitcoin-related.

Here's my answer: Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts. If you have really good posts, you can post a request for preemptive whitelisting in the appropriate topic. Also: - You must have made one post in order to send PMs. - You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature. - You need 50 posts to put an image in your signature. Note that it may take up to 10 minutes for your PM or posting permissions to be granted.

Hullo everyone! Only just got into mining a few weeks ago. To tell you all the truth, I got into it so I could pay back my fine for stupidly and moronically running a red light where there was a camera in place . Lesson learned... lesson learned!

Hi. I'm rnicoll. I'm new to Bitcoins (still downloading transaction history new). I'm primarily interested in the technology of how Bitcoin works, although having attempted (and not exactly succeeded) at writing automated traders for Forex before, I'm inclined to see if I can do any better with Bitcoin.

I'm Rick. Currently running 5x 6950, which are unfortunately lazer cut and one 5830. I had originally ordered 7x 6950's and the 5830 to spread across 4 rigs, unfortunately one of my psu's blew and fried both the motherboard and the two 6950's, so I ended up RMA'ing the entire rig. Currently pulling 2.15ghash/s and am looking to invest in some pci-e 1x extenders and some new cards/extra psu's.

Wear sunglasses....another lesson learned. Red light cameras are the easiest ticket to fight. Try Mr. Ticket if you're in a city they service.

You need to use an exchange service or find someone to sell them to you directly. Ok first, what's an ATI card? Never heard of one lol Second, exchange service, you mean like MT Gox or Tradehill etc? Iv'e already registered with a couple but like i said they all only seem to accept wire transfers, cash in post, cheques etc etc.I was hoping to just make a straightforward transfer to someone in the UK (where i am) cos as far as i know i can do that online through my bank now, failing that paypal. Otherwise it's wait till Monday when the bank's open to make a wire transfer (although Britcoin.com you can just make a cash deposit at the bank) Their presently at around $14 yeah? So i was only wanting to spend $100 to $200 max for my first foray. Cheers How many BTC do you want? Hi David from Canada here trying out this Bitcoin thing.
I bought one Bitcoin today on an exchange at 14.20US$ and sent it to my miner app, the default application I downloaded from Bitcoin.org is that app called the miner? Lots to learn I guess.
Anyway I'm reading through the forum trying to find out the basics of sending and receiving since I'm having trouble doing a test send from my desktop miner app to my Android phone wallet app.
And after all that my top priority is to learn how to backup my Bitcoins/wallet data (to actually get an eWallet for Linux) and most of all encrypt all that.
As I said lots to learn.

Hi. I've been reading the forum for a while now, and figured it was time to set signed up. I have very modest hardware to work with, so I'm not getting Bitcoin rich by mining (and I do not expect that I will). Mining is fun (and fun to watch). It's also an excuse to tweak and upgrade my machines to see what I can get out of them. I'm as interested in the social and economic (as well as clandestine) uses of Bitcoins. Not sure where it's all headed, but it's interesting to be along for the ride.

I've been reading the forum for about two months now. It's been a HUGE resource, solving 99% of my mining related problems. I'm so very thankful that it's available.
I mine with 2 rigs. Each one has 3 5970s in it, and at this point I'm working out my highest stable overclocks on stock volts. One of my cards was quite lucky, and I'm able to run 880 MHz on each core on stock volts.
