Hey all!
So far I have some mining on a 6990 behind me and managed to pass a few BTC over to Mt.Gox to watch them devalue, haha. I am having fun though and I do believe that there will be an electronic form of money in the near future, BTC seems like a good candidate for that.

Sup, it's moeSizlak. Been mining since '08: June 8th. Currently mining in a very small (20GH) pool: http://www.rfcpool.com. I got in right after they found their first block and it's been hella profitable (luck++) ever since. But seriously, the real reason I'm on this board is I want to advertise my new website, which will be online and ready to go by mid-August, BITCOIN BLACKJACK: http://bitjack21.comThe site is done entirely in HTML5 & Javascript, with a PHP/MySQL backend. Hi all, I'm Lucas.
I'm a software engineer, the primary language I use is C/C++.
I first heard about Bitcoin in a slashdot article and was inspired by how it might change the world.
I believe decentralized currency is the future, in order to make that a reality I would like to contribute to the bitcoin code.
Current banking systems are corrupt and not functioning responsibly.
We cannot continue to allow corporations to exploit the bailout system.
Economic order needs to be restored and crypto-currency seems to be the way to go.
My secondary goal here is for this to be a learning experience.
I hope to learn quite a bit about cryptography, mathematics, economic systems, decentralized networks and network theory in general.
All casual interests of mine that I've always wanted to learn about and subsequently implement.

Hi, I am Bart and new to this forum. Last week I started out with two rigs on deepbit.net. In total I just got my 1st BTC . Reading on this forum, I saw a webpage which showed who finished the last blocks. On that I saw slush and deepbit most. First I thought because they have to most power (workers), but on another thread I read that workers do not combine their calculations on the same block. I was thinking that solo mining was interesting, if you have the most Mhash/s power combined by more rigs, on your own bitcoind. But now I read that those rigs are not working on the same blocks. Even further, if you have 4 GPU's, all four miners on that rig are even not working on that same block. Is that correct? Does that imply that solo mining is only interesting if your hardware has very high power per miner ? So that 2x a HD5850 ~350Mhash/s less interesting for solomining that 1x a HD5970 doing ~700Mhash/s? Or do I have this wrong ? Would be great to post in the correct threads instead of this newbies section. |

Basically you install OpenCL and get it working, then point it at your pool with login info. If you give some details about what hardware, OS, and mining software you're using I'll be happy to help you try to get it working.
