Hello everybody,

first post! I'm pretty disillusioned with the current world financial system -- it used to work for a while but now it is definitely nearing the end of its usefulness. The central banks will have to print more and more money just to keep the scam going. I prefer to invest in precious metals but bitcoin looks interesting too -- it could be big someday! Or it could collapse. It's too early to bet the farm on it!

Those who cause problems for others also cause problems for themselves.

Wow ! i'm really glad i started following bitcoin information.  After read a few posts on mining, i discovered my drivers for my graphics card were out of date.  (maybe not even installed) Withthe help of GPU caps Viewer i was able to get updated.  Now i'm checking out the GUIminer program.

iambaboon, newcomer on the forum. cheers to you all
i. r. panda. welcome aboard. ;p

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.

Hello guys!

While I seem to remember hearing reference to Bitcoins a couple of years ago while I was studying computer science at uni, I only recently re-discovered the existence of them in the last few weeks.

I've been doing a fair bit of research on them lately and I'm already getting interested in getting a little mining operation going. More as a little hobby project more than anything; I'm not quite sure if it's still a viable way of funding the hardware by itself (as it appears to have been before the value of bitcoins dropped last year), but as long as it wouldn't be running at a loss (in terms of electricity usage) then I'll probably give it a go Smiley

I'm already signed up to BitMinter and I've been hashing on there for the last couple of days. Unfortunately I'm only on a laptop at the minute (albeit a decent gaming one), so I max out at around 150Mh/s for now - but can comfortably have it doing 110Mh/s in the background with no noticeable drop in desktop performance. Which is nice!

Sorry for the long introduction, but I think I'll be hanging around here for quite a while from now on =)

Hello,
I'm not new here but have not set up a account until today. I'm a computer technician and owner of Pcexpress4less in Philadelphia. I've been mining for awhile. I will eventually be excepting payment at my computer store and online sometime here in the future. I'm sure most people on here are well skilled in working with computers but will offer my help to anyone that asks.

When you start considering accepting BC as payment, try out bitpay (or maybe bit-pay).

Good luck and thanks for the kind offer.

Heh, me too. Looking to sell a couple of amazon.co.uk gift cards, but I really don't have much to post regarding bitcoins themselves.

Isn't it five posts + 4 hours?

It's easy to acquire, but I really don't want to spam even the newbies-section when I got nothing to say.
