You should be able to PM after one post I believe.

Hi All.

I'm a noob at posting to the forum but have been reading since October. I've been mining many of the alt coins at various times and am currently mining LTC and BTC. I have traded a lot on the a couple of exchanges. I just figured it might be time to actually say something... maybe even something useful sometime  Smiley

This is mostly a hobby for me, so I don't care so much if I make anything at all from it. It is nice to occasionally buy something from Amazon via btcbuy though  Grin

Hi,
I am new to Bitcoin Mining . I am trying to setup a dedicated miner based on the "mining rig" page, the 2100MHash/Sec box. Got (3) XFX HD 6990 Graphics Cards, the big Coolermaster HAF-X case ,1500W P/S, the whole Shabang! I am a windows user, and comfortable with it, but decided to experiment with Linux to do this dedicated task, since it seems a good way to learn a little bit about Linux as well. I am running Ubuntu 10.4 (Natty Narwhal). just installed Bitcoin (I can see my wallet), but, there I sit. Linux found new updates and I just rebooted, now I cant get the basic Bitcoin program to relaunch. Here is the error "EXCEPTION: 22DbRunRecoveryException DbEnv::open: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery bitcoin in AppInit() ".

1) Anyone know which "Miner" utilizes the 6990 card the most ? (Highest hash rate). I will try to load that next? or step 2 ?
2) Install drivers from Ati/AMd Site. Downloaded this "amd-driver-installer-12-1-x86.x86_64.run" and double clicked on it, but noithing happened, and I don't know where to look to see if it is working.

So, the the 3 cards wake up on boot, and I know they are there, but they are basically idling, Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  because they are not in use.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Sincerely, U308Miner

Introduce myself? Um, just a lurker who apparently failed reading comprehension since it's taken me months to realize why I couldn't post to the forums I am following! Looks like that time spent in university was wasted, eh?

Happy new year to y'all!

Hi, I'm a complete newbie at Bitcointalk forums but not a newbie at Bitcoins. Been following Bitcoins ever since the big crunch from $30. I hope they go back to that price cuz I'm mining at 5 GHash/s on Deepbit.

Know all about bitcoins, just looking for more connections (vendor wise and information wise). I hope to become a trusted member here very soon but for now I'll stay in my place here in the newb zone...

I love bitcoins, they are quick and easy to use, I use them on anything I can...

While I have used bitcoins for a year or so now, there are still some things to leanr, this bitcoin mining for instance...

Heard about bitcoins early last year, I think. Figured out how to mine after realizing you can actually use bitcoins to buy stuff! Made one purchase so far!

What's up with guiminer? After rebooting today after a couple weeks without a reboot the thing stopped submitting shares. Reverted to v2011-07-01 and it's working again, but a little slower.

Looking ALWAYS for people who would like to start a pool and know how to
run and install P2POOL + MPOS on linux and/or freebsd. 50Gige clusters with
ddos protection. Hardware is optimal for p2pool mining. MPOS Front-end, if I'm not
already running the alt-coin pool, msg me if you have the qualifications to start one

My name is....well lets just say I'm an advocate for sound money and a believer in the Austrian school of economics...Anyways i'm glad to be apart of your community and will be happy to talk politics and economics on here as that is my area of expertise and I'm hoping in exchange that I can learn some technical things about how bitcoin works and getting my miners running as efficiently as possible... I don't want to make money(it would be nice)but i'm more interested in how this will collectively help society as a whole and am interested in starting a non-profit bitcoin venture...

Hi everyone. Chronos00 here.

I have been passionately reading about bitcoins since the gawker article, from last june. I am trully astonished about the potential of bitcoin, and the vission Satoshi Nakamoto had to device such a revolutionary project. I perfectly understand why he needed to remain anonymous. Lets hope he is still fine, and can see this project fully blossom.

While I wait the 4 hours to upgrade my status out of a newbie, I would like to ask you all: how have you got your hand on your bitcoins? I am looking for answers other than "by mining", because that is not really an option now, and will probably never be an option again (unless you want to make a full scale business out of it).

whats the simplest, quickest and safest way to get bitcoins? Keep in mind I live outside the US (Argentina, more precisely), and can not buy moneypacks.
Regards!
