Hoping to get out of here too.
There's an interesting question (topic 127998.0) that I was hoping to respond to concerning virtualisation. I run a VPS hosting company so know quite a bit about this. And I know a reasonable amount at Bitcoin, consider that the company also accepts Bitcoins as payment.

I'm just an ordinary guy who drinks a lot of beer and watches my GPU spin around all day. I'd prefer to get out of newbie jail. I'm not gonna be a troll, just want to learn more about how it all works. i'll buy a six pack of guinness for the first mod to get me out of here.

There's a contest running in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=129030.msg1376563#msg1376563It asks for submissions to be posted in the thread, but I can't post as a newbie. The deadline is tomorrow. I'm new to the forum but not new to Bitcoin. I'm a writer for DailyAnarchist.com and SilverUnderground.com which both cover Bitcoin related stuff, and I'm the graphic artist for DontTreadOnMeme.com where I designed, for example, their BitNotes. I'm trying to submit a design for a BitCoin donation page for AntiWar.com

Hi, I'm Ex0deus... you can also find me in #bitcoin-otc on freenode, i tend to hang their frequently. I'm interested in getting whitelisted so that I my better contribute in the forum community. Recently I've been reading some threads in the mining sections... and would like to participate in some of those discussions, yet I am unable to.
There are also some ideas of my own that I would like to share once I've made a good sweep of the forums to avoid any redundancy. But as i'm going along it would be nice to be able to reply on some of the posts which strike my intrigue... or share similar lines with some of the ideas that I have.
Thanks for your consideration.

If you have a need to be allowed into the forum beyond before you have completed the required 5 posts and 4 hours logged in, please post your request here. You must provide evidence that shows that you either understand more about Bitcoin than the average newbie, or that what you want to post can only be done in another forum. Reasons such as "I'm not a spammer" will be ignored. Try to be as specific as possible.
If you learned of Bitcoin through a currently established member of this forum who feels that you are ready to be released to the rest of the forum or who is willing to mentor you, or if you want to make a new account that is separate from your already-existing established forum account, have the existing user/account vouch for you after you have made your request.
If you are asking to be whitelisted because you are having a problem with something, we generally look more favorably on people who have already attempted to solve their issue in the Newbie board. Even if you end up not qualifying for preemptive whitelisting, your post might still qualify for being moved to another board if you have received insufficient help after a few hours.
Also: - You must have made one post in order to send PMs. - You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature.
Please note: If you see "Jr. Member" by your name, you have already met the 5 posts and 4 hour requirements and don't need to post here. Additionally, after you meet the requirements, it can take up to 10 minutes for your account to be automatically upgraded.
Hi Long time reader ..decided to join the ranks... I see Bitcoin as a longterm solution to the ever increasing online payments systems plagued by id theft and so on Can somebody tell me from a merchant point of view...what will be the final price for... say a 10 dollars item ..to be sold on bitcoins At this stage I understand bitcoin like this : The buyer needs to be educated enough to be able to : 1) open an acccount with a major Bitcoin trader ( in order to do that will need some proof of existing bank accounts..etc) 2)send money into the trading account (fees ?) 3) buy bitcoins (fees?) 4)send bitcoins for puchse (again any fees?) I guess mmy question is what will be the ABC for a totally uneducated merchant to start allowing BTC as a payment method? A

I guess mmy question is what will be the ABC for a totally uneducated merchant to start allowing BTC as a payment method? A None of those things are REALLY required... First you must understand that bitcoin is NOT an online payment system... though it could be harnessed in such a way i suppose.... Bitcoin is in fact... a currency. Just like USD, CAD, EUR, or any other currency out there in the world. This difference between this and other currencies is that it was created to exist in a decentralized market... where supply and demand really demonstrate the value of it. I cannot be centralized although aspects of it can be. It is need needed that you start an account with a major bitcoin trader, as it is not required to get bitcoins. Bitcoins can be obtained the same way you would get cash... either by working for it, supplying goods in exchange for bitcoins... or if you wanted YOU COULD buy them from a trader... but its not needed at all... so there isn't really a need to buy bitcoins. One could also look into the aspect of mining bitcoins. In which case you'd have special hardware dedicated to the purpose of find new blocks. Blocks contain transaction information, so its miners that really make the market possible... for this service... when a miner finds a new block... a bounty is created in the form of new bitcoins. This is how the currency inflates slowly over time... every 210,000 blocks the bounty is halved, until eventually the bounty is so small it doesn't really impact anything... this will leave the bitcoin market with about 21million bitcoins... give or take. This won't happen though until about 2140... In reality... all you really need... is a bitcoin client... and your on your way.

I think that's the purpose of keeping you on the black list. To keep the monotonous questions in the noob section so we can help each other learn. Plus plenty of whitelisted members are in the newb forum to offer support. Why not make a new thread full of your questions?

Hi, I would like to be whitelisted. I am aware that most of my noob questions are already in the wiki so I solemnly swear to look there before posting. I would like to be able to contribute to the other forums. Thank you.

I'm a bitcoin user for roughly 1 year, and feel that I have a decent handle on the "scene". So far, ALL of my bitcoin experiences have been positive.
Mostly I use my bitcoins to sports bet, and to play poker. In fact, I came to this forum after doing a search on the sports betting site that I use, Anonibet. I feel that I have a relevant post to make in the Gambling forum, in the anonibet thread started by poster crowe.
I'm close to being whitelisted anyway, I think. Just need the hours now.
Peace.
Bump for another try. Not a spammer; true bitcoin enthusiast who would like to contribute to the gambling forum RE: anonibet. I've definitely spent 4+hours here, yet for some reason my timer doesn't reflect it. Bumping to ask once again, please whitelist. Would like to pahticipate like a normal poster, which is what I will be. Normally.

Hi, can someone whitlist me? I use bitcoin for a very long time. But I am not very active in bitcoin things. The reason why is registered at this forum is the user fellowtraveler. He is developer of opentransaction and i tried to contact him via mail which was not successful for some reansons. So i would like to PM him or answer him in his thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=129594.msg1384111#msg1384111 so I can find if he just has no time to answer or if the mail got lost or sorted out into spam folder. My github account is https://github.com/zwiebelcode (just if you are interessted in this) would be nice to get write access, because this newbie mode is just unuseable...
