I have to somewhat agree and can't believe how exceptionally difficult it is to post. Many of the the issues with the programs usually say to come here if you have an issue with said programs but it is very difficult to do if you can't reply.

i definitely read that newbie rule too late :/ You're not the only one. I understand the newbie rules but I'm fairly sure they're turning away many people. Maybe it's time to relax the rules a bit and see if the trolls are still around.

I know that feeling bro. I gave up on setting up mining farm a while ago. One thing you should consider when you are setting up a mining pool is to host somewhere with Unlimited bandwidth. 1 TB of bandwidth could work too. All depends on how many miners you have, and with ASICs coming out, you are going to need much more. Hosting from home, unless its just you and your friends, is never a good idea.

I mean this is pointless really,
I kind of side with you too now. My viewpoint of being an intelligent system has gone away, as I already am nearing 20 posts on my first day. This 4 hour limit will take me a week to reach, but is pointless in the long run. I'm asking to be whitelisted. It will make more sense for a 4 hour limit as more and more people join. But I dont think we have too many people joining daily. 2 hours would be reasonable.

Hi, all.

I suggest strongly against that as that mindset will lead to be seen as a stupid spammer. Don't spam bro. Just give insight if you can, or provide thanks. Thanks are always great. But don't do it excessively.

Hi this is my first post (in order to get up to five posts).
First, of course, thanks for an excellent new currency, bitcoin.
I bought some a couple years ago (when the price was high!) but now it's even higher, so I am curious about the whole thing again.

In the interests of playing "devil's advocate" a friend of mine pointed me to a serious attempt to question bitcoin. I found it well-argued, but still easy to counter. Basically, the author Dmytri was saying that bitcoin might be good for private transactions, but for govt funding, he couldn't see how it might work. I added some comments on that page suggesting that there are actually ways of using bitcoin for public (govt) funding projects, as a way of avoiding the dreaded "austerity" certain unenlightened governments want to inflict on us. The blog is here: http://www.dmytri.info/bitcoin-and-public-moneyI always find it reassuring to seek out the strongest arguments against bitcoin, and then find persuasive counter-arguments to them.

Every fiat currency sees government funding because that government not only prints it, but taxes it back from its citizens. Bitcoin has no centralized authority, so no government funding is theoretically necessary. Hi this is my first post (in order to get up to five posts).

Great! I am curious, did you hold onto your coins when the Bitcoin value crashed, or did you get emotional and sell them on the ride to the bottom? Also, did you buy any when it finished falling.

Actually my timing was all screwed up.
I heard about them during the first run-up to 30 USD in 2011, and wanted to get some.
Got a few via OTC in the IRC, while I was waiting for my dollars to hit dwolla so I could trade on mtgox.
Then I think the crash happened on MtGox. I can't remember all the details, but I ended up buying at around 18 USD.
Then they subsided down to 4 USD or 2 USD, but I had spent all I could on them, so I couldn't get any more.
Just crappy bad luck / bad timing on my part.
But now they are back around 50 and I think they will go much, much higher, so I am excited again.

No such thing as bad timing as you cant predict the future. But did you hold on to the Bitcoins you did buy when Bitcoin fell? Did you sell any after it fell? And it actually got lower than 2 USD. Something like under 50 cents.
