I see the number of posts that I've made in my profile section.
How do I see time spent on this board?
I used to use bitcointalk a long time ago, but haven't been on in a while.

This is a bit of a me-too post as I thought I was going batsh*t-crazy at not finding a "reply" button on the forum that I need to post in! Just for anyone who can actually post, the BTC-Oxygen site is not allowing sign-ins, but is at last handing out and accepting work again. I just cannot get the site to let me in. I understand this policy of stopping people blitz-posting and blocking up threads with spam, but even using the forum search option it took me ages to work out why I cannot post. This was a really frustrating and pointless exercise. Please either make it clear during signup that newbies will not actually be able to do anything useful until they have kicked around the Newbie Area wasting time (4hrs) and effort (5 posts about what...?). OR, put a "restricted" tag or something similar next to their login so that new recruits will not waste time trying to find out why stuff doesn't work... ...or is that the plan? To make noobs more self-reliant...? Cunning... Awesome even...

The total time logged-in is in the heading area at the top of the page on the left.

I' new here. Hoping to learn how to start a business of sorts with Bitcoin. Love the concept, and want to see it thrive. No banks, no corruption! Er... um, hopefully???

My 'total time logged' is way lower than the real time I'm logged in: I expect that if I stay logged in 30 minutes it should increment by 30 minutes. What I'm missing?
Thanks Bye Piero

i also favor the captcha or the "moderated posts" approach! the current situation is really annoying... most newbies are eager to join discussions and simply lose interest by the time they finally get to be a fully qualified member.

I have been reading on this forum for several weeks, and I've been investing in bitcoins for the last few months. I don't see any reason why I should be able to post on real subforums...

Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts (new topics or replies). If you have really good posts, you can post a request for preemptive whitelisting in the appropriate topic. Also: - Newbies cannot upload their own avatars. - You must have made one post in order to send PMs. - You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature. Note that it may take up to 10 minutes for your PM or posting permissions to be granted. (The system automatically checks every 10 minutes and promotes people as appropriate.) Well this sucks! We common folk suffer due to the misbehavior of bots!

I agree. Likewise, perhaps an active for X hours or for X years might be helpful too. i also favor the captcha or the "moderated posts" approach! the current situation is really annoying... most newbies are eager to join discussions and simply lose interest by the time they finally get to be a fully qualified member.

While understanding the need to restrict spam I think 20 min. is a long long time to make folks wait. There are better methods out there, and a 5 min. delay for postings would be better. All I wanted to do is PM someone for now, alas....

I like your newbie restrictions. I have sn SMF forum elsewhere and we might try some of this. Great idea for trollers and spammers.
