has someone compiled the wallets from src and checked if the apps ( android / win / linux ) from the release matches?

Based on the progress of address linking that we've seen so far, I have to make a few adjustments to the future distribution plan. Nothing changes for the first round (December 25) but the rules for further rounds are optimized to maximize the long-term value of your bytes. ....
What is exact time of taking snapshot? Is it UTC 00:00:00 Dec 25th?

I have compiled from source on linux 32 bit only the [new testnet] version. Haven't checked for other platforms than that.

Yes, I did it for Linux, it matches close enough, its not a reproducible build like Bitcoin or Tor yet. Joining here, to say amazing great work to tonych, looking forward to build many platforms with this technology.

It's positive even if you get a small chunk, this is a totally new concept it is worth your time to get involved in this free distribution.

positive aspect with big fish get many free byteballs is that some might consider not to dump but push and promote this coins where they for free became a big stakeholder
and the few who dump their free coins will allow people who had not much BTC to link them buy a few GB pretty cheap from the dumpers
i guess the dumpwave will be fast so try to buy early until people discover that sometimes stuff u get for free can have real value....
i learned my lesson at NEM/XEM where 1500 people got a free share at initial coin rollout
there was a timeframe when for each of the 1500 people this free coins where worth 0.00002000 satoshi x 2.3 million XEM = 46 BTC
so dont underestimate that there can be legit projects who wana create a initial coinspread by hand out coins for free and that such projects can still be very successfull
so dont make the misstake to waste ur potential free goldmine here dont lose access to ur byteball address dont dump premature

It's a pity there is no free Bitcoins, all in altcoins and sell now with great disadvantage I don't want.

Hello, when trying this and getting to the step where I sign my byteball address with my electrum wallet. When I try to validate the signing (it says to remove and replace the ledger wallet and it will come back as a keyboard and type something in a note pad, but this does not happen, on either of my computers). Secondly, when I try to sign any message, it says that "unfortunately this message can not be signed with ledger wallet. Only 140 alphanumerical characters are allowed, please delete all tabs, spaces ,etc and retry" but there is no special characters.
I've even tried signing the message "hello" with the same issues. Whats going on here?
Thank you.
Also, I can't verify by sending from address because my ledger wallet chaanges addresses with each send, even though I have it checked off on electrum.
Thank you.
It seems there are some problems when signing message with Ledger hardware wallet and Electrum on Windows I found this similar issue on github: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/1675It says that signing messages is more likely to work on Linux It also says that token should be configured to use keyboard 2FA, not keyCard, because keyCard is not currently implemented for signing messages Verification by micropayment works: you just have to send back all your bitcoins to the address from which you paid the bot (make sure it is indeed your btc address before sending anything!) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1608859.msg17200476#msg17200476

I create a new address, send my coins to it, then try to send a confirmation amount to the transition bot. Even with "Change address" setting unchecked on Electrum, by the time I'm sending the tip It's from a brand new address that has no association with the first and shows a 0 balance.

Have you sent micropayment to bot? If so, what does the bot say? EDIT You have to do it the other way around: send the confirmation amount first and after confirmation, send all your balance to this address!

That is the countdown till December the 24 th 23:59:59 UTC, which is the time limit to linking. The snapshot will include the first mined bloc after December the 25 th 00:00:00 UTC, given the fact a block is mined each 10 minutes, it will be between 00:00:00 and 00:09:59 UTC I guess.

True, at the highest point, 1 stake of NEM was worth over 60BTC. But the difference is every stake in NEM had the same value, so all stakeholders were equal. Byteball distribution rewards those with more BTC and less with those who hold few.

If you have synced BC core than its much faster to simply sign messages. If you insist on sending microtransaction then you have option (in upper part of send tab) to manually select exactly from which address to send.

Did anyone try to sign a message via blockchain.info. It only works with imported addresses so I wasnt successful. What wallets do you use?
I signed via blockchain.info, it was with an imported address, but I could have also signed with the new address, it's easy, what's your doubts? I have no doubts. I just cant sign my own address. I have to import an address. It says its not available yet.

I exported a seed from blockchain.info, created electrum wallet using this seed and linked it to byteball by signing a message. Now my blockchain.info wallet is linked to byteball wallet. Whole process took a couple of minutes. Thank you for your answer. I wasn't able to import my wallet generation seed via electrum. How did you export your seed via blockchain.info? I checked the faq but couldn't find the option. The new wallet if awful!
