It worked like a charm for me in ubuntu 16.04. So easy, nice and clean. Although the microtransaction method feels so unnecessary..

Did anyone try to sign a message via blockchain.info. It only works with imported addresses so I wasnt successful. What wallets do you use?

In Global preferences>> Backup>> I found: "To restore your wallets, you will need a full backup of Byteball settings. Just the wallet seed is not enough."
Hmmm... What does it mean "full backup of Byteball settings"? How should I create "a full backup of Byteball settings" ?
Good questions! Backups are critical in cryptos. Please someone explain how to create reliable backups on all platforms! Thanks and regards, djoser.

GB still seems large to me asan exchange listed unit.
from what i know there will be 10^15 total bytes thats 1,000,000,000,000,000 bytes or 1,000,000,000,000 kilobytes or 1,000,000,000 megabytes or 1,000,000 gigabytes or 1,000 terabytes or 1 petabyte
now from what the transition bot shows there is 10,000GB being allocated (0.31/btc x 31,000 btc approx)
is this round only 1% of total byteball?
i thought it was the biggest round. can tony confirm? at this rate 1GB as exchange base unit means 10,000 total coins which seems low. people are used to dealing with whole units which is why i assumed MB would be the base unit with kb and b like cents.
also with GB as base going back to bytes is 9 decimal places. bitcoin and other cryptos have adopted the 8 decimals. Tony care to weigh in as im confused?
it looks like its 1 power of 10 out on distribution page. atm seems 1% and after re-reading is round 1 to be 10%? in that case it should be 3.1GB/btc and not 0.31GB/btc
@tony just a requote as nobody answered. how many% is this round seems to be 1% by transition bot numbers The mistake in your calc is that you assumed the rate is 0.31 GB/BTC when in reality it was (at that time) 0.31 BTC/GB. That's how you got an error by a factor of 10.

I exported a seed from blockchain.info, created electrum wallet using this seed and linked it to byteball by signing a message. Now my blockchain.info wallet is linked to byteball wallet. Whole process took a couple of minutes.

31,000/0.31 makes 100,000 (GigaBytes) that is 100 TeraBytes.

great work hermesesus
what about a tutorial for Ledger Wallet (HW.1, Nano), anyone?
Unfortunately, it is not possible yet to sign a message with a Ledger Wallet and its Chrome appThe "sign a message" feature is in development (roadmap: https://trello.com/c/xMK8hj9r) It's possible since you can use your Ledger Nano - (or Nano S) with Electrum. I've made a tutorial for Ledger Nano S with Electrum Please send me your feedback Tutorial: linking Ledger wallet Nano S to Byteball account via signing a message with ElectrumStep 1: Install and configure Electrum wallet- Download and install latest version of Electrum: electrum.org/#download- Select Standard wallet - Connect your Nano S to your computer, enter the PIN and select the Bitcoin app - Then select "Use a hardware device" - Your Nano S is detected - Press Next, and select your Account Number. If you are not sure, leave the field with 0, otherwise enter the index of the account you want to import. - Click on Next, and Electrum will sync your account. Depending on your connection and the server, it may take from a few minutes to half an hour. - Once the sync process is finished, you can use Electrum normally. Step 2: Get a NEW bitcoin addressOn Electrum:- Click on "Receive" tab - Copy your "Receiving address" Step 3: Move your bitcoins to your NEW addressOn Electrum:- Click on "Send" tab - Paste your receiving address (from step 2) into "Pay to" field - Enter the amount you want to transfer (you can send the maximum possible amount by pressing the "Max" button) - Select the Fee amount - Click on "Send" - Validate the transaction on your device (Nano S) Step 4: Install and launch Byteball wallet- Download Byteball wallet from byteball.org (make sure it is the LIVENET version) - Install Byteball wallet - Open Byteball wallet - Click on the link provided by byteball.org to launch the Transition Bot - Click on "Insert my address" then on "Send" - Enter your bitcoin address (the one from Step 2) and click on "Send" Step 5: Sign a message (your Byteball address) with your Bitcoin addressOn Electrum:- Click on "Tools" --> "Sign/verify message" - Paste your Byteball address (from step 4) into the "Message" field - Paste your Bitcoin address (from step 2) into the "Address" field - Click on "Sign" - Validate the signature on your device (Nano S) - The signature should now appear on the "Signature" field, copy it Step 6: Link your Byteball address with your bitcoin address- In Byteball wallet, paste the signature (from step 5) and click on "Send" - You should get a confirmation from the Transition Bot with your current balance on your bitcoin address Note: If you spend some of your bitcoins, you will have to repeat Step 3, so that your bitcoins are always on the linked bitcoin address
BTC: 1PCFYMwCb4F2M2zezY1gAooKHTTtrvX1e2 Hello, when trying this and getting to the step where I sign my byteball address with my electrum wallet. When I try to validate the signing (it says to remove and replace the ledger wallet and it will come back as a keyboard and type something in a note pad, but this does not happen, on either of my computers). Secondly, when I try to sign any message, it says that "unfortunately this message can not be signed with ledger wallet. Only 140 alphanumerical characters are allowed, please delete all tabs, spaces ,etc and retry" but there is no special characters. I've even tried signing the message "hello" with the same issues. Whats going on here? Thank you. Also, I can't verify by sending from address because my ledger wallet chaanges addresses with each send, even though I have it checked off on electrum. Thank you.

I am not sure if its related but I also had problems with Electrum signing messages. My keys were not hardware imported but from a list. I also found its most likely a bug that wasnt addressed for almost a month. Here it is: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1709943

So we have to install the ByteBall wallet, then send our Bitcoin to and from addresses then back again whilst entering our secret "Password/Phrase" to unlock our Bitcoin wallets to send ? I think everyone will be robbed on Christmas day IMHO considering how this is all playing out and the complexity to link wallets, the ones that are encrypted are the ones they are probably looking for Call me a conspiracy theorist but waiting for you/us to type your/our magic phrase or password for your/our Bitcoin wallet once the Byteball "Wallet" is installed seems like the main aim.... If I am incorrect disregard my comments in the future & just call it pure insecurity but I got a ing-kling on this one.

Hi, I'm using blockchain.info and I paid you 0.00113 BTC to get in your offering.
It says:
"Your payment from [my public address] has 1 confirmations now."
and
"Current balance of this address is 0 BTC"
Though I certainly have more than 0 BTC in that wallet. Any ideas?

I think the same way, of course i can do all the things and install a bunch of stuff but seems very fishy to me if the devs were honest they could made this distribution more simple without installing a bunch of stuff in your computer i hope nobody gets goxed after all, anyway i prefer bought some byteball from exchange without risk my savings for a greedy impulse, good luck i keep an eye on it.

Your BTC probably has been sent to another address of your wallet (a change address). Make sure the linked address is indeed yours (you have control over it) and send your BTC back to it. If you are not sure the address you linked is yours, don't send anything to it.
