ok thanks for clarifying. Why we use two set of currency, why not use one and when the user send fund around he can choose if he wants the transaction be private or not? If it were allowed, a single user who wants to remove privacy would also reveal all previous owners of the coin. But this could be a problem, that I need to have two separate assets, one for public tx only, another for private tx only. usually people want to do private tx only for some transactions. So if I understand it correctly, that these are for 3rd party assets transactions, that I can use bytes/blackbytes as the "gas" for their transactions (public or private), but I can't for bytes itself when I consider it as an asset?

You'll receive both bytes and blackbytes in the distribution, so both currencies will be quite wide spread. So if I understand it correctly, that these are for 3rd party assets transactions, that I can use bytes/blackbytes as the "gas" for their transactions (public or private), but I can't for bytes itself when I consider it as an asset?
Bytes are "gas" for all transactions, including those that move only bytes. Blackbytes are not "gas", it's just a regular asset.

The more btc you have, the more bytes you'll get.

For verifying your Address? Yes ?! Hmm first I thought that's stupid. But when I think about it... It depends on the Exchange's wallet System. But maybe you could link their wallet to your Account. tonych?

Haha, no, makes no sense. After sending your Transaction the Address is used and empty. So only Thing you do, is linking an empty Address.

It took me 12+ hours to sync the wallet... given that this is only testnet now, I think it will have serious performance issue later on, when we go alive.
We are currently working on improving sync speed. Also, when link BTC address, my BTC wallet has several addresses, do I need to link all of them? or do I have to transfer BTC to one single address in my wallet?
Both options are available https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1608859.msg16837694#msg16837694OK great, will follow it

This seems a very interesting coin... the only part I don't like that much is the witness. Witness can go bad or be hacked, and 12 seems vulnerable

I don't follow this project very clsely, so there probably already is an answer, but I' gonna ask anyway: Why 12 witnesses exactly? How is this nuber determined? What would happen, or what would you suspect to happen, if you had, say, 120 witnesses?

The number should not be too small to prevent fraud, yet can't be too big as it will be managed by each user.
