any GPU miner for AMD card available now? what is the I7's cpu speed?
I get about .10 kh/s on an xeon 1231 v3 with dual channel memory with 3 cores/threads anything more than 3 gives no benefit If you have a higher end i7 that supports quad channel memory you might get significantly better results Xeon is the closest thing I have to an i7 so I hope that gives you a general idea. Hopefully i7 owners will give input also, so far the community has been pretty tight lipped about sharing info i get about 0.13kh/s on 4 threads of an 6th gen i7 (6700HQ) -- not sure if it auto utilizes quad channel memory or have to OC or unlock it in some way? its quite profitable to mine, tho the nethash has been crazy last few days (up to 1500KH/s, now 1000 as i type) i am patiently awaiting GPU mining, kinda FEELING like its started behind closed doors, but have no evidence of it haha Your i7 only supports dual channel memory configurations https://ark.intel.com/products/88970/Intel-Core-i7-6820HQ-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-3_60-GHzThis basically means that if you have both memory slots populated with dual channel paired memory you will get increased speeds when mining The faster the memory and the lower the latency the better As far as confusion for reported speeds pools will display .13kh/s and 13h/s will be displayed on local miner so I understand what you are talking about whichever way you say it. Thanks again for sharing your info! P.S. A pentium G4500 gets about the same speed as your i7 for about $80 for anyone else that might have a 4500 around might be worth trying it. At this point it wouldn't be worth buying a Cpu to mine this with GPU mining around the corner

Pretty crazy that a Pentium can compete with an i7. Anyone testing with 4 channel memory should try my optimized miner. It's no faster with 2 channel memory but with 4 channels the AVX2 code might speed things up a little. Or maybe the algo goes so far beyond saturation that not even 4 channels can relieve the bottleneck. I think you're dreaming about a GPU miner. The algo is going switch once maybe twice again before settling on MTP. Don't expect a GPU miner until then, at least.

I think the're all about the same optimized or not. The optimized versions might be able to get the same hashrate with less CPU load. The bottleneck is memory access, no amount of CPU optimizing will improve that.

I would also be interested in 4 channel memory with a compatible cpu and its ability to help performance if any. CPUS that support 4 channel memory are a little out of my price range at the moment so I haven't had a chance to test The dev team is testing a new algo and GPU miner Here is the blog post about a stop gap until they get MTP ready http://zcoin.finance/language/en/decision-zcoin-algorithm-change/The blog post is worth a look as it details the reasons for the change and need for a GPU miner

Tweaking Lyra2 again to reduce the memory requirements to make GPU mining viable may make it easy to develop a GPU miner for it, There is already a version of Lyra2 for GPU, it should be just a matter of tweaking the parameters. But it may still not happen until the permanent algo is chosen. Putting any effort to support a temporary algo is a waste of time/money.

I agree with you and am aware of and have used Lyra2 I am just repeating the things that official Zcoin has told the community and not my opinion about GPU mining The reasons for the change in the official Blog and posts from them in this forum indicate its to combat abuse from cloud miners using free or stolen credits to obtain massive amounts of hash power. You may have a deeper insight into whats going on, but I am just going by what they have told the community so far.

Hey, I wanted to give mining a try. Is it worth it though with a hashrate like this? I got a i7 6700K... The mining pool site isn't really helping, it shows 0.00 everywhere

We are finally testing a temporary algorithm to span the 2 months until MTP is ready to make it more GPU friendly to make it less cloud-mining friendly.
If all goes well, we'll have a change ready for Monday and the 2 weeks notice will start to exchanges/pools and it will allow everyone to update their mining software and pools.
It might not be pure Lyra2 due to the urgent nature of the fix.
In other news, MiningPoolHub should be launching their pool soon with more accurate readings (this is still on old algo of course).

There is a 0.1.8 release available at GitHub, but there's no any single word about it in the OP. I guess the OP should be updated.

Was mentioned here: 8 January 2017New Zcoin release with wallet load fix out. Read more and download here. Also please participate in our poll to decide whether we should make our current algo more GPU friendly while awaiting MTP But you're right Will include version numbers. Thanks for the spot!

Hash rate is growing and growing
One user has what is equivalent to 1500 i7 computers 75,000- 90,000 watts
Glad to see more interest in this project, I just hope its from legit sources.
