Hello, I want to get modded bios for r9 390 gigabyte. These cards support very high temperatures and have a high consumption. Also, the voltage is locked. I have read this topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1465128.40 yet to r9 390 gigabyte not everything is clear to me. If anyone has a working Bios please help. Thanks.

You can use HawaiiBiosReader to do the mod.

Is Claymore planning a new release guys?

The miner is already very fast. Difficult to improve speed any more.
But it's need to improve stability.
Ive had zero problems with stability with the miner itself. The only time something goes wrong it's because of me (oc to much)

Keep up the good work claymore!
I tried stock frequinces on 270X and 280X. Same result - miner 12.4 unstable. I read this thread - most 280X on 12.4 unstable. This means that 12.4 need to improve stability.

I can confirm your findings with 280x, I reverted back to 12.0, now I can run at higher intensity, I don't have to use -r 60 to reset miners due to falling hashrates.  I tried the -old 1 but it didn't do it for me.
Try 12.2 - for me it gives more speed than 12.0 and stable.

Thanks, I concur.  About 2% faster, and so far, stable.

what speed are you getting ?
and what settings
I have 2x 280x sapphire vapor x's
using 12.4  intensity 6 , stock frequencies... seems stable enough...runs days on end
575-580 sols  pulling 520-525 watts
cant seem to undervolt with afterburner

Sorry to ask maybe on the wrong topic.  I just wanted any opinions of the forthcoming AMD hardware and its possibility to bring forward mining speeds.
580 will come soon but maybe a much bigger move will be Vega in May onwards.

Is Deep Learning relevant to crypto mining or not likely to bring mining gains for the various blockchains?

not sure 580 will change things significantly in performance per watt. More likely next generation Vega will though.

Hi,

I was using claymore's miner under linux before.
Now I had to rebuild my rig again.

Now I'm thinking about OS change. Should I install windows? or continue with linux? if windows, which windows? windows 7 or windows 10?

Just wondering what the performance difference between a 4GB and an 8GB is on the Radeon RX480?

I have a number of sapphire RX480 8GB and they hash around 300

I bought 1 Asus Dual X to try out also 8GB but it is crap@ 280 hash

Looking to try a 4GB RX480 from Gigabyte - any ideas ?
I got a PowerColor RX480 8GB, going to add that to my HD7950. Not sure if I can get 300 sol/s with it though.

You need the newer driver for the RX 480 and old driver for 7950.

that's incorrect. 7950 and rx480 work fine with latest driver.

7870, 7750, 7850, all work fine with the same 16.10.1 WQHL driver that works well with the RX 470.

12.4 on the other hand doesn't seem to like the 7870 much - lotta "driver reset" issues even with -i 1 on a card at stock clocks - but gets along fine on my RX 470s (about 270h/s with stock 4GB cards and a VERY minimal overclock) and the 7750s I've tried it on so far.

out of curiosity, what kind of hashrate are you getting on the 7750s?

It is a swap from LPE to LPP, chips based on this process will purportedly deliver more processing power in a smaller footprint while sipping less power at the same time.
So the 580 will be more power efficient than the current 480 and slightly faster.
I'm waiting on a bios to see if it will be compatible with the 480 but I doubt it will be.

FYI you can get the Fury at $230 that give you 470 sols @ 250 watts. That's 5650 Sols total on a total investment of $2700. The monthly profit is $825 giving you a 3 month ROI, The Vega at $500 a piece will give you an ROI in 8 month.

About the same although the rx480 is better on power consumption. This is based on advertised sale prices in the US

RX480: 330 sols for $170 = $.51/sol ..... 660 sols @ 250 watts = 2.64 sols/watt
Fury:   470 sols for $230 = $.48/sol ...... 470 sols @ 250 watts = 1.88 sols/watt

I heard you can undervolt the fury by 100 mv and the consumption goes down to 175 watts and the rx480 down to 100 watts, but haven't tried it on either

Thats right but if you have to pay for energy then fury is not the best card
Vega 10 should at least give 3- 3.5 H/s/watt
And of course future speed improvements for Vega cards with hbm2 is another point.

R9 Nano is best if you also undervolt.
