Memory leak: just redownload v12.2, see note in OP.
-i 8: done, you can use it already.

-i 8 dont work on modded r9 290x 4 gb. low rate. -i 7 work fine
I have the same problem -i 8 on 290 makes all other cards run at half speed 390 and 280 on the same rig but -i 7 is fine anyone no why I have downloaded the updated version so that's no it

-i 8 is working best on 12.0 still!

I found some strange issue. On long run (3 days and higher) my hashrate drops!

Is there some king of memory leak? Cause if i restart rigs speed will increase for 1 day. After 2-3 days of working i see hashrate drops again...

Need auto restart after 24h? Cause i don't touch my RIG's

http://i67.tinypic.com/vpw4te.jpg

This same with me. suddenly start computer again. I dont know why but before version very good, no problem. Is what i think also memory leak, 16gb system 80% almost then computer shutdown then open. I check everything, I see no problem with my system. I check again power supply new one buy.

You can download the latest 12.2. There is less memory leak now.

My miner (6x 480 Nitro 8gb) restarts sometimes after few hours, sometimes after few days. Cant see the reason why.

Is it possible, that cmd lines from the cmd window are saved to txt, soo I could see what went wrong after comp reboots?
thnx for help!

It is saved already just check the folder where the miner is you will see the log over there.

i have R9 285x 2GB working stable for mining ETH. since 5 months ago , it was run fine in claymore 6.4,7.4 and v8.0

Now it is  stop working to mine ETH or ETC  , ZERO hashrate on it

but it is working fine to Mine Zcash v12.2 with Win7 16.9.2

i try to change Riser,PS,Operating system,Rig, and result nothing
i try to test different Driver and nothing

Note that i have another Card with same specs and running fine in ETH with 20MH/s

please help Awaiting your reply

It is expected as the ETH DAG files is too large, nearly 2GB. So you cannot use that card to mine ETH any more.

You can mine EXP for some time though as the DAG is still lower than 2GB.

Hi fellow miners. I would like to know which cards are better for mining in general. AMD or NVidia. I mean right now the most proffitable coin on Nicehash is zcash but what if zcash is not proffitable anymore, which cards can mine other coins very well. I know that rx480 has 310 sol/s and 27 MH/s ethereum but gtx 1070 gets 430 sol/s and also around 28 MH/s. Which cards are good for the most coins?

This comes up all the time.  It is a personal preference really.  Some people love Nvidia and won't touch AMD. They're wrong.

An rx 480 is a little more than half the price of a gtx 1070.
Cheapest GTX 1070 at NewEgg is $349.
Cheapest rx 480 4GB is $189.99 and 8GB is 204.99. (beware though that 204.99 sapphire has micron not samsung memory. I know I bought 4 Wink

So it's much better to buy the AMDs as  you can get more hashpower.
Also resale value. Even though a 1070 resales higher price you're selling TWO rx 480 so you probably make back more money than selling your 1 GTX 1070.

Finally, some software developers DO NOT SUPPORT NVIDIA.  For example simplemining OS doesn't support Nvidia at all. Claymore doesn't support Nvidia for dual mining with Pascal. Etc.

There is no reason to buy Nvidia. Once you realize this you will be a happier person and you will make more money mining.

-asm     is available for polaris? what value should I use for rx480?

-asm   try faster assembler algorithm implementation when possible, it is less compatible but faster. Specify "-asm 0" to disable this option.
You can also specify values for every card, for example "-asm 0,1,0". Default value is "1".
Assembler implementation is available for some cards only, miner displays "algorithm ASM" when it is available.

what does make asm available ?
becaus ei have 2 computers with rx470  but only one i notice use asm, they have the same driver

I have been mining fine for months and now the miner closes as soon as it starts up. I get a "NO AMD OPENCL GPU FOUND". Windows reads all GPU's fine. Any suggestions?

Hi guys,

I am new into equihash mining, I am just starting. I am mining on my desktop PC with Radeon HD 7970, getting 286H/s on ZCASH.
I would like to buy a whole rig of cards on USB risers. I am asking for help:)
Which cards (I don't mind used cards off ebay) are most profitable for mining?
What operating system should I use for dedicated mining rig?
What are requirements for motherboard and CPU (I would like to use PCI-E USB risers)? Can I use old mobo+cpu with only one PCI-E port, or they are not required at all if I am mining on USB?
My budget is about 1000 USD/GBP/EUR. Cheers:)

Try to reinstall the gpu drivers maybe it automatically updated it self to the newer drivers what doesn't work good with modded cards

Just noticed about a problem in linux, don't know if was already mentioned, but need to be fixed asap.
I'm getting this error continually and is filling really fast my log folder in /var/log/kern.log specially, also some in syslog
The thing is that makes a really big log which completely fills de hdd and after several days without noticing, seems the rigs are starting to fail with the error: bus fail ( core dumped ) and also gives this error with other commands "such htop for example" even after deleting the log

Any one else with this kind of errors? I checked in my rigs and in my desktop, rigs are with ubuntu server and desktop with ubuntu desktop, both 16.04 and driver amdgpupro 16.50.
In one of them I run the miner as sudo for control fan speed and in the other no, but same problem in log...

I suppose I can deactivate system log, but I don't think is the best way to solve this

I use Win8.1 and do not have the problem. Maybe you need to rreduce the  intensity to 4 or 3. You may try reducing the frequency.

I'm interested to make a 7 gpu rig with second hand GPU's but i don't know the hashing power of this gpus.

If you dont want to pay a lot for eletricity, you should go with RX470s or RX480s
