the 800 will change nothing to be honest, even if one 880 will do x4 with 150w(and i'm generous here, i still think that it's not faster than x 3 750ti), it won't be profitable anyway
i'll buy at least one for gaming purpose, because the 750ti can't run some "beast game" that are coming

Right now my rig is a mix. My 750ti's will be replaced with 880. Not so much for mining but because I can sli 2 880s. Mining is going to be a second thought for the cards once they are here. As I need 2 that will sli for my new monitors. I think that's honestly the only way to go mining wise now. Buy what you need and use for mining when your not using them.
Plus replacing the 3 cards with a single card allows me to remove my risers, and free up a PSU.
I intend to sell my 780 and 3 750ti's and use the money plus a little extra to buy 2 880's. Costing me a relatively small amount for more power saving and better game performance, even if I do drop a little bit of hashrate

I might just pay for your 1 x 880. Lets see if its a good card and how's the mining profit going.

Me too, I will replace one of my 750Ti for one 800 series just for gaming purposes. Cheers

I already sold 5 of my 780 Ti's and was waiting for the 800 series like crazy but the truth is now I'm not so excited anymore as I'm not very optimistic about GPU mining in general anymore. I'm not going to jump on the 800 series that's for sure. I mean there's not much to mine these days and even if a profitable coin pops up it's only profitable for a matter of days.

That's why i believe for a lot of us, its more worth while to buy cards that we will use or can use, and mine when not in use. I haven't hit ROI on my 750Ti's purely because of some bad choices i made with the earned BTC, but as i see it now, they cost me nothing as they earned what they cost, and if i can sell them to upgrade my gaming system, its a free upgrade

If so, this would be the second case I see someone having the same issue. blahij May 11th, 2014 at 03:08 I had 6 flashed hashing @ 300kh for a month or two. Had two burn themselves out day before and then another the next day. Temps were fine and I can see some discoloring on the back and one component looks blown-out? Mine were Gigbyte and I used the posted BIOS on this site. Quote from http://cryptomining-blog.com/1014-how-to-increase-the-geforce-gtx-750-ti-power-target-limit/

But you developers will invent a whole new way of mining the algos with it and make the speed 10X what it is today!

I never risk my GPU doing any sort of custom OC or bios flash. I always use stock setting which means i have to buy the highest stock OC card available (EVGA 750 ti FTW)

no bios flash nothing, was just a small stupid mistake from me, but i thought that the fan would force the speed like for amd...

I can't go below 56% fan speed (~1920 RPM) on the very same cards but I'm glad it's sorted.

i think the best part about using Nvidia for me is the plug and play without any setting. No mining parameter. No need to change anything. It make mining more user friendly and enjoyable. I never regard selling my 270 and 290 for 750 ti many months ago.

i reduced the fan because of the noise in the night, but i didn't know that it would have caused that, glad i wasn't sleeping lol
anyway the temps was around 85-86, these cards shouldn't handle those temps without problem?
for amd if you remove auto(on msi afterburner) and set the fan at low as possible, they still go up if the temps are in the warning zone, why with nvidia it isn't the same?

should but ive never seen my get past 50. the only issue is you can only see the core temp not the memory temp. If your core was 86, your memory would be higher, especially with an overclock so it could have been well over 100, which would cause resistance's to change due to heat, causing more current draw, which would cause more heat and thus the frying

Oh, I never go above a very conservative 65°C core temp on any of my cards. Mainly because if the core is 65, the VRM could still very well be around 90°C and I'm planning to use the cards for a long time.
