Here we go, everyone fill it in and we will see the outcome

Seen how little that I know compared to some and if I could have access to tips and help I would gladly pay a monthly fee. Do it!

Not talking a monthly fee, one off would be good, split between myself and all the other devs

I'd suggest a one-off to set membership, plus an honest donation round after any profit spike relating to the group's activities.

Sidenote: I'm all for open source, but the economics must be favorable, or at minimum, sustain a fair incentive to those that are doing all the code work. A restricted sharing group can provide that incentive (through donations, membership, beers, pizza), with minor moderation by means of delaying public releases.

Cheers,

Count me in.

Would like to know how many devs would be in it too...when it gets to that stage.

Exactly what I'm talking about......You geniuses who code should code and those of us (like myself) who are good at PR(public relations) but I prefer to say Perceived Reality, need each others strengths to push things forward...I have some very private ideas (sounds dirty but its not)  that I would only like to share with those who could keep it private and be useful in their implementation. I/we need your talents and to fully implement them to their fullest you need ours.

However, I am not sure it is really the place to discuss this sort of things...

Looking at the tally so far, I'm quite surprised that with the number of lurkers here, there isn't a more tsunami style "no". Nonetheless, this is going kind of as expected.  Undecided

The votes were dead even when I just voted a moment ago (12 yes, 12 no), which seems about right…though I am also a bit surprised that there aren't more lurkers voting no.

I second this!  I've already donated once before, and I'm happy to do so again for all these reasons already stated.

If it is not in violation of licensing, another option would be for the Devs to put in some code to send a portion of the proceeds to them from each miner.

Perhaps after an address contributes x amount of coins then the donations cease.

I think people would accept it if they know up front.

So are there any possible enhancements we can squeak out of qubit, skein or groestl? Digibyte went multi algo and is looking very very attractive to many people. I already see some heavy hitters with substantial hashing power picking up on this. Just looking for something that might give us little guys a better chance in picking up more coins.

On another note...

Quote
IMACredit is focused on creating a truly ASIC free and GPU resistant crypto coin.  It accomplishes this goal by utilizing the N-Scrypt algorithm with a much bigger N than any other coin to date.  At launch, N=16.  This is 2 higher than the latest ASIC technology will support and high enough that current graphic miners will crash with stack overflows.  e.g.  This is a CPU only targeted coin.

Why not go for riecoin? Stable user base already. Why make a new coin?

Regarding support to the devs I'd vote a solid YES, but having a "premium" section to achieve this goal is unclear to me at this moment so I voted UNSURE.

I don't think I ever received donation from that many people  Grin
(I think some say yes just because they want all the good in advance... and forgot to read the rest)

As I've already have donated a couple of times, I voted yes. Of course we must give back to our devs  Smiley But I think its kinda sad ppl aren't donating "freely" and that a thing like this is needed to get the system functional.
