Re: Bitcoin.com Mining Pool Official Discussion Thread

Would any statisticians like to chime in on how likely this horrible horrible recent luck for our pool is?
We have checked all our systems, and everything still looks fine, but this bad luck really is horrible!

I'm sure I'll be castigated soundly here for saying so, but I am considering throwing a few shekels in the collection basket.

I'm sure I'll be castigated for saying this as well, but I find Roger to be among the most honorable Bitcoiners I have met. So while it is likely that I will not ROI on any such 'tithe', I expect his mining operation to put its weight behind the same vision of Bitcoin as I share. Accordingly, any loss (if any) would still really be an investment in the future value of the network.

And I have previously excoriated others for employing cloud mining, as such are likely to be ponzi scams. See previous paragraph.

Hello Wall Observer, my old friend
I've come to troll with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while Adam was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Was a block chain
Within the sound of trolling

In restless dreams I trolled alone
Narrow threads in speculation
'Neath the halo of a monitor glow
I clicked a tab to bitcoinity show
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of an all time high
That split the night
And touched the sound of trolling

And in the all time high I saw
Ten thousand trolls maybe more
Trolls posting without typing
Trolls moderating without reporting
Trolls writing posts that voices never shared
No one dared
Disturb the sound of trolling

"Trolls," said I, "you do not know
Trolling like a cancer grows
Read my posts that I might troll you
Take my keyboard that I might troll you"
But my words like unconfirmed transactions fell
And echoed in the wells of trolling

And the people bowed and prayed
To the Bitcoin god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said "The words of satoshi is written in the order walls"
We dropped our jaws
And whispered in the sound of trolling

ha! nice job!
might have to google the chords  and bust out the ax for that one...
ill be singing it for an audience of one... (me)

seems like the ship holding steady at $2500  for past few days
come august 1st? maybe not so much....

when the possible has been exhausted you must look at the impossible

about mining
is it not true with mining that

the miners in 2010 did not get much for their return until years later

is this not another proven fact of bitcoin, follow the bottom trend line for budgets?

This is much more major than anyone seems to be acknowledging so far ... BIG money has most definitely arrived, let's see if they can behave themselves and not go bankrupt and look for taxpayers bailouts like they do with everything else.

... consider yourself castigated. Roger has done pretty scummy things and employed low-life methods to achieve his ends (however stupidly well-meaning yet misguided). I wouldn't even buy firecrackers off him (or explosives).

Our Satoshi, who art in blockchain,
Encrypted be thy name
Thy transactions come
Thy will be done on ASICS
As it is on Github.
Give us this day our daily mining reward,
And forgive our zero-conf double-spends
As we forgive them that double-spend against us.
And lead us not into alt-chains
But deliver us from Ripple
For thine is the mining rig,
The hashing power, and the block reward,
For ever and ever
Amen.

Miners Prayer? I like that.

this is my first time view Wall Observer and it has many speculations. Its good that Bitcoin is stable now at $2500.

Is it just a coincidence that Bitcoin started rising when that was announced? It's up by $100 in the last 24 hours. Maybe the rise is just noise, or maybe that news is already affecting the market.
