I just sent my first BCH transaction and its now over 30 minutes and there is no confirmation. What the F? Are there no nodes to validate?

Had the same issue last night. Was trying to send to the exchange to sell some off... took me about 35 minutes to get 2 confirms and I paid a high fee set by my Trezor. I just thought to myself "and they complain about BTC"

Kettle, meet pot!

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Damn.

The ASK list of bitstamp keeps disappearing because everything is bought up and I have to refresh the site.

#firstworldproblems.
That and which color for your tesla you want to drive until the next $10k increase in price.
decisions decisions . Undecided

I have actually decided to not buy a Tesla after I saw a video where a guy parked a Tesla at the airport and went on vacation.
When he came back the battery was dead, and the car had to be towed. Apparently a parked Tesla draws about 3 to 6% of the battery power per 24 hours.
A main switch to the battery would have fixed that, trucks/lorries have had that for ages. That's what happens when a IT nerd builds a car.

I will go for the BMW I3 with range extender.

Jew media and US govt are posting 3 year old videos of Bahrain and claiming it's Iranians attempting to overthrow the govt.  The united conquered states of Jewish slaves haven't figured out these scams don't work anymore?

The Concierge of Crypto

Quote from: realr0ach
Exter
is dead. His pyramid is defunct. He was a former Fed official too.

Of course, John Exter lived in a very different era than today (he died 2006, three years before bitcoin), and while he did found the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the exchange rate of the LKR to the USD has been declining ever since. So it's worse than the USD, which, according to recent news did it's worst year in 2017.

During his time, gold played a much more significant role in the global economy than it does at present. Canada recently sold almost all it's gold, and they have one of the top bullion refineries for bars, coins and rounds. It's not surprising that Exter viewed gold as being totally unique.

But that was before the advent of crypto.

After all, when 2008 happened, it wasn't gold that rallied. Gold actually declined by 20%+ at points during H2 2008.

Of course, this doesn't mean gold isn't viewed as a safe haven at all. There's just no gold standard now. Hasn't been since 1973 or 1976 in the US.

Most nations abandoned the gold standard as the basis of their monetary systems at some point in the 20th century.

You might want to look up George Franklin Gilder, tell me what you think of him.

Amazing. I have been working with MMU's since RSX11/M, you would think the eggheads at Intel could get this right. Nope, sounds like they could fuck up a wet dream.....

You know how people here says "someone should make a meme for that" and two seconds later a meme appear.
Someone tried something similar in the Bitcoin Atom thread. (It's basically only noobs there). Didn't go so well.

"We should make GIFs for this project. Anyone with ideas?

Which GIFs do you mean please?

creative GIFs with BCA logo could go viral and make good promo

Please feel free to come up with some ideas for GIFs, we will be glad if you could spread a word about BCA also this way. Thank you!

when will you use these GIFs?

Can be used for product promotion

And in the case of the BCA what is their finality?"

Ther's still no GIF's.  LOL

Exter is dead. His pyramid is defunct.

The idea of Exter's pyramid does not require him to be alive nor is the idea deprecated.  Exter's pyramid is simply the end of the line financial asset in which no other assets leap frog as a store of value.  For instance, if someone believes the bitcoin market has topped out and the gold and silver market have topped out as well, NOBODY is going to hold bitcoin and will immediately dump the bitcoin for metals because bitcoin inherently will always have a vastly higher risk profile.

Just like Theymos said the other day, people just assume SHA256d might be secure.  Metals do not give a fuck about if SHA256d is secure or not.  It requires a black hole hitting the planet to black swan metals.  Bitcoin has too many black swans that can blow it up to count.  This is why bitcoin shills hate the word Exter's pyramid; they know bitcoin cannot compete on Exter's pyramid, thus making bitcoin just a pump and dump - a place gamblers go trying to get yield from imaginary, valueless tokens by scamming others into accepting their imaginary IOUs.

Just like I said a thousand times before, the further you abstract money away from barter, the bigger a scam it is.  Using a physical commodity as money is the closest thing you can get to barter without being barter.  The fact bitcoin doesn't even exist except in people's imaginations - an imaginary commodity, obviously makes it trash compared to real commodities or precious metals.

There's even talk of upgrades needed for some ARM systems. Does that mean my phone (and the bitcoin wallet on it) are vulnerable? The phone companies rarely give a shit about providing system updates, they just want you to buy a new phone instead. I can't imagine the phone companies rushing to fix that horrible mistake, I can imagine them making us wait for another year before making a new model available for sale with a fix for the problem.

Gold and silver do appeal to survivalists/preppers. If the shit really hits the fan that might be the only usable currency.
The risk of such an apocalyptic event is however in my opinion zero.
Having said that, it's always fun to own some gold and silver coins and bullions, I mean, who here didn't dream of having a safe like Scrooge Mcduck's when they were young.
