Lightning requires segwit. Which is to say, it will be as worthless as segwit is.

This is one of the most ignorant and myopic statements I have ever seen someone make on these forums.

Sheeeeit !

It is getting very weird here, with strange people invading this post every day with bullsh!t & nonsense. We need a more tyrannical user voting system forum. Where we vote or give a grade to most everyone and those shills will have a label on them: "This users opinion does not matter!" ... That would be great!!! Make the forum great again!!! Cheesy Cheesy

now satoshi acted in good faith
but he did not understand perfectly what he'd invented and since then his invention overtook him à la pandora's box

...

asciilifeform: mining-is-a-bug(tm)(r)
mircea_popescu: the bricking-of-extant-asics moment edges ever closer.

Last time I checked, it seemed MP et al were hoping a PoW function that requires unbounded memory would rescue them from those who control the ASIC foundaries, but I had pointed out that it can be DoS attacked (because the requirement for memory is unbounded). Even if it worked, it wouldn't resolve the incentives incompatibility of transaction fees. Is there a new epiphany I should be aware of?

MP seems to underestimate the forethought of the Zionists. He's a large whale unaware of the whaling ship and net that will devour him someday. He's serving a useful role though and they'll play along for the time being.

check more often and further back lol. and get more sleep===make more sense

Peter
Thanks for all the effort you put into explaining your position clearly for us all to read. In years to come when Bitcoin is still number one and Bcash is long forgotten, I think you will be smart enough to figure out where your logic was off. But as you say, you still have your BTC so it's all good from a financial point of view, but you have burned a few bridges today. Maybe you will be smart enough to figure out how to rebuild them.

Quote
For 'tis the sport to have the enginer
Hoist with his own petar; and 't shall go hard
But I will delve one yard below their mines
And blow them at the moon: O, 'tis most sweet,
When in one line two crafts directly meet.

The borg queen has noticed the propagation of alt coins in the alpha quadrant which will soon reach and influence the delta quadrant.

Strange that you missed that all the cool nazi kids are into Adolfcoin.

It is a counterproductive measure! No one gets educated that way. But I understand you. Some of them are spammers. But maybe there will be an ICO making a blockchain based forum with very many features or flexible forum design by each adopter / token hodler, and they could pay the electricity bill of the servers(miners) with those tokens. Smiley ... God.. how many gambling ideas just passed trough my head. Cheesy Cheesy

Yeah, but when ignored, a message show a "show/hide" button I can play with at random, sometimes showing pity for the poor censored message.

When BTW lists Bitstamp, Gemini & Kraken  as the supporting exchanges, you know something is not right.

It is a counterproductive measure! No one gets educated that way.

Have you been over in the "Flat Earth Theory" thread in Off-Topic ? There is no educating those people. It's pure religion.

It taught me the value of ignoring certain accounts outright.

Bcash supporters are the Flat Earthers of the cryptosphere.

I just popped in there  (FE thread) to say hello... lol

critical vulnerability in electrum?
I read up something about that. I guess those of us who use NoScript should have been fairly safe.

Posting this here as I previously recommended this company in this very thread:

Whatever you do with crypto at the moment. Don't use Changelly.com.

Waiting 2 1/2 days on conversion, still no sign of some BTC I'm waiting on and I see countless of people on Twitter who have waited much longer and on different coins, even people who have bought BTC from them at high markup. Very little reply from their support.
I know Mempool is busy. But only if you send with the smallest fees would you have to wait this long I would have thought!

Looks like it is a one man band and cannot cope?

They should shut their exchange system down for the time being if they were legit. Does come across like a scam. Or they are all on holiday basking in the Sydney sun or something?

Had no probs with them in 2017 but this is ridiculous.

Stick to the popular exchanges!
