Funny how they pump 10 more Billion into Ripple and it goes up 25 cents.  Such wow, that supply is ludicrous.

And who the hell is buying it? Crazy

250.000 BTC converted to Ripple in last three weeks. Only explanation is it's speed, transactions are lightning fast and confirmations on exchanges quick. If one wants to arbitrage it's very convenient. I see no other reason for it to become #2 coin by market cap instead of Ethereum. Although, competition is not very good Wink #2 Ripple, #3 Ethereum, #4 Bcash, all broken coins.

It's the Koreans.

Check out the exchange volumes:

Bithumb leading with XRP/KRW.

Don't ask me why tho..

Do we have any Korean present who could give some insight?

They think Ripple is something more than what it is and they all chase after the largest % gains of the day.

Propaganda in asian languages is a whole other beast.

Totally off topic but I have converted all my BCH into Bitcoin (sold some too). Any way.....

Decided to sell my Bitcoin Gold today, obviously I have all the private keys that will have been credited with BTG at the time of the fork. Coinomi is only supportable by Android by the looks of it.

Which wallet can I enter my private keys to then be credited with my free BTG on either PC or iOS

I used Coinomi on an android phone.  If you have an older version of Chrome on your laptop you can use the Arc Welder extension to run it as an emulator on a desktop.  My version was to new and it only showed a blank Coinomi screen.

Reading all these comments here again about Ripple, and again the conclusion is the same: this is the valley of the clueless.

You people haven't read up, at all, about the tech, the deals with banks and other FI's - as well as the possibilities of the network. The only thing you do is regurgitate the same wrong assumptions you've been making ever since 2014/2015 - and I am not surprised seeing many old time believers in BTC falling back in their same mistakes as usual again. I just cannot wrap my around why some people can be so stubborn, and still not see when the evidence is just lying around everywhere around them.

It is clear and true fanaticism what some of you guys are unfolding here, people like Torque and Jimbo being ahead of the column  Wink.

Uggg, clueless is right.  Ripple is the best thing since banks were invented.  Oh wait, that was never a good thing. LOL One of the biggest hurdles for a currency to store value was getting away from trusted 3rd parties.  That seems to slip many of the fellows minds on the ripple train.

Clueless indeed. We didn't hear or read about the change of paradigm: burning of the premined coins and zero-knowledge induced decentralization (the technical details about this zero-knowledge thingy to decentralize ripple were a bit too complicated for me).

Dimon also said it's perfectly ok and not a scam. We only missed it. Thanks for the heads up!  Tongue

Ah yes, I forgot: bAnkS arE thEY EneMY. Or something along those lines.

You know, you can only change the world one step at at time. History is full of idealism-that-went-overboard, and I fear the vehicle this site serves as a community to, is one of them. It was a pipedream in 2013, it is still a pipedream now in 2017. Only the tech got even older and surpassed by competitors left and right. The illogical BTC rally that we saw this year will finally end so it appears, after BTC having been the worst thinkable posterboy for the cryptosphere during that time. From this point onwards, it's downhill for this valueless token.

But as always: make your own decisions. I am just here to witness the level of uninformedness and cognitive dissonance that was likely going on again. I have to say: I was not disappointed.

Even if bitcoin ends up successful somehow, i think it will be heavily centralized. That's how the world works.

On bitcoin being the worst posterboy i can agree, i use ethereum to transfer money since a long time, btc is too much pain.

"illogical btc rally"

i didn't understand it at 2000, nor at 3000, nor at 5000...so 20k lol

I like them. They're the conservative bitcoin types. Also like JJG, for them the reserve crypto currency is still bitcoin. They trade mostly or almost exclusively only bitcoin.

I, on the other hand, am making my gains from alts, but at the end of the day (or week or month), I trade them for bitcoin.

Buy bitcoin and hodl is the least risky move you can make. Buy others and do something with them then back to bitcoin is how you make faster, but riskier gains (or losses).

Then if you're like roach, you don't cash out. You gold out (or silver out.)

I think what is happening is BTC dominance is going to test 39%.( It broke the short term uptrend in the last day. )  But who knows. As always it is best to keep an open mind and not be religious about BTC.

I posted the above on Dec. 20th. I think we are testing the 39% area. Please don't accuse me of being a shill. I am a big bitcoin believer. I use this chart to determine under or over performance of Bitcoin.

edit = we are at 41.7%

All I know is the ripple pop will be pretty epic to watch.   The massive inflow for a safe haven to BTC will be nuts.
