Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

and this is on the RUMOR of south korea still considering banning ALL crypto ..not just exchanges

and the RUMOR of China banning all use of ANY exchanges of any form in country or out of country

what will happen if either or both of those are said to be true is anyone's guess

its a FUD FEST

ah hell, I've not 'panic sold' anything in like 2.5 years....good to see I still can wimp out Smiley

Even if it is just 72 LTC Smiley

Big leg down tomorrow. Another 20% at least. Alts going down 40%. All the buyers in South Korea were shot dead. The US government is rounding up all holders of Monero. Your hard drive is about to crash and your seed is missing a word in the middle.

And I've used my crypto profits to book everyone here in for an involuntary sex change.

I've placed a largish limit buy at a fairly low price. I doubt it will get filled, but you never know with crypto, do you?

By the way, @ jbreher, to the extent that you were really employing $250 price increments in recent times, I hope that you have either stepped those back a bit on those increments (to make more large) or are otherwise keeping up with them.  I would feel stressed to a fucking much higher level, if I were to have been employing $250 price increments in the past day or so and during other times like these.

Nope. Still at $250. I had some gap-filling to do when I got around to checking the trades today, but such is no problem. I don't see any reason to panic when taking my time opens such gaps.

I do have a higher propensity for anxiety when we're streaming down, as opposed to streaming up. But then I just glance over at my growing piles of BTC & BCH, and console myself in the knowledge that we will again one day arise. Just today, I've pulled in 17 BTC on execution of pre-entered buy orders, and another 1.5 or so BTC on the volatility. When we again arise to mcgoosen's magic $25777, that'll be nearly a half-mill of fiat value.

I make a bit on the side by buying and selling for people, taking a percentage with each trade.

You might want to either stop doing that, or stop talking about it. I suggest you look up the feds' definition of Money Services Business.

Ahhh Bitconnect Ponzi just collapsed.  They just closed everyones positions at an amount above the market price, which of course they have no intention of paying but should buy them time to board a flight to the Antilles.

This dip is going to be remarkably cleansing. Like a nice colonic irrigation.

In a bull market you wouldn't even be hearing about that. In a bear market people look for every little piece of FUD to try to explain the situation.

The truth is that the crypto sector is in a huge bubble. I would argue bitcoin is not, but it's going to get dragged down anyway, for now.
Seriously - $150 Billion Ripple Market Cap? This had to happen.

9 grand ish or 5 grand ish. I can't be bothered to choose.

mluc favors 9, some agreement there.
Me, I can never call highs or lows.
Last time i thought $350 would be the low, but it went to $175

At least BCC finally collapsed. It was getting annoying with even YouTube ads about it everywhere and misinformed people investing in it. I guess there was a small positive side to this after all.

Yeah I'll probably have to sell 30-40ltc to fund some equipment I just bought. Might sell gold instead, been years since I had to dip into that stash.

But in the meantime, just shows how shaky hands can be. I'll ride it back down to $80.
