I don't understand the psychology of some people...they panic sell even when there is not even 1 single bad new in press. I understanded the panic sell after ddos attacks or end of silk road, here it is just speculation in its pureness, right?..Bitcoin must change these pure speculators to long time believers in cryptocurrency and they have to learn actually use the bitcoin as a currency, not just as get rich quick scheme. Until than....we are not even close to going mainstream.

However, i noticed btcchina was repeatedly down today...do you think it could have some effect on the price drop?

Yea, that's what I think. You don't have a price crash without a goxing. That's just one of the fundamental rules of Bitcoin. I think BTCChina may have picked up where Gox left off, though.

The Bitstamp price is quite irrelevant.

Is there a consensus on which exchange is leading these downturns?

Not sure. It seems unclear.

Looks like people get nervous about being a the bottom. Going up again. Sheez. I'm out (I hope) can resist paying attention for the rest of my sunday.

If Gox even matters any more, then the answer to that question is yes.

Looking at the order book on Bitstamp I really doubt it will hold. If someone sells 150 BTC the price is $265.xx

i meant that they shorted perhaps at higher price. if it's going to break 265 then it would maybe be wise to wait for bounce and sell some. i believe our triple bot holds, how strong can a support be? well strong it is =)

I thought we might settle back at ~$350 on Gox today, setting up for Monday (in case another bullish week ensues following this).  Plenty of volume now though.  Certainly plenty of capitulation this weekend from those taking down profits..
