We don't know who struck first, us or them, but we know that it was us that scorched the sky.

This one I don't understand.   Cry Cry

Quote
In the early stages of the war, Humanity initially had the upper hand, but this quickly turned in favor of the Machines, with their deployment of new, technologically-advanced, and far more inhuman robots. The new robots no longer were anthropoid like those created by their former human masters, but rather more insectoid and cephalopod-like. The Machines slowly and steadily conquered more and more human territory with humanity only able to win costly victories.

Oh?  Seems that context can make some of the earlier confusion more clear or at least less unclear.

I sold more than the above plan. I recognized the likelihood of the blowoff top,

I will concede if the correction lasts for more than a year and if we are in the below $10k doldrums for more than a year.. then perhaps last year's BTC price peak could be fairly classified as a blow off top.  However, if we get something else, and even perhaps a return to another price peak that rises us above $10k before February 2019, then maybe our real blow off top for this exponential growth period (and perhaps series of peaks like 2013) is yet to come... which could mean that $100k is within grasp.

Perhaps I should have said localized blow-off top?

and I wanted to buy my lambo.

I am more likely to consider a figurative lambo than an actual lambo.

Aye, my lambo be a rhetorical lambo, not a literal Lambo. Hell, I drive a 20 year old full-size van. Then again, my rhetorical lambo cost quite a bit more than a literal Lambo.

Capital gains are a natural result of profits - they're a lot more affordable than a 2/3 haircut.

No problem trying to figure out ways to pay less taxes, but if there are reasonable lifestyle purchases, such as a lambo or even a lambo substitute, better to just declare everything outright rather than spending too much energy to try to save on taxes but then miss opportunities to enjoy the fruits of your years of investment and HODLing.

Wow I didn't know Bitmain is going for public listing on exchanges! So we now have the chance to either short Bitmain's shares and gain on their fall instead of shorting BCH? Both are the same things anyway! Roll Eyes

Just kidding... don't risk your money shorting Bitmain... They have showcased their readiness to work in any underhanded method as long as it benefits their wallet. I'm sure they will be able to manipulate their earnings since a lot of their money is in cryptocoins. Hopefully they're not holding BTCs though, I want to hope they've done selling BTC to buy BCH and they won't drop the BTC's price lower after it goes up a little.

General consensus is they are desperately selling their BTC to prop up BCH price.   It is one of the great wealth transfers in history.  Thank you Bitmain.

I feel it's the responsible thing to do, to take a curmudgeonly outlook for the moment, and not get too optimistic until we break $10k.

Once we break $10k, I'll consider being happy again. $20k, and Rick retires, making me very VERY happy.

This is just all whale circle-jerking right now as far as I'm concerned.

Half expecting a plunge back down to $6k.

I want to see bitcoin break the last high (24th July, $8330 on bitfinex) before I consider the bear market es over.

Let's see.... traders sold in May and went away, market went flat....

...now they're back from summer break... and market is moving again...

... and no one can see the correlation. Hmmm.  Undecided
