Thousands of BTC of bids piling up on Gox, suddenly.

Thinking theyre (MTGox) getting bought.

Stamp dropping

where? at 100$ piece?  Cheesy

Of course, but its still a big deal.

About 2k ~200, 400k. Thats something.

Grammar is overrated, apparently. I bought my first bitcoins from his company last year.

For Bitcoin to become obsolete, something better will have to take it's place. When something better takes it's place, bitcoin holders will have the opportunity to trade bitcoins for the replacement.

Yeah, exactly! That is why it's not so necessary to hodl. I also believe in this idea that bitcoin brought forward, but I just don't believe that bitcoin has a very long life left in it.
I'm not telling here that bitcoin investors deserve nothing. I'll only say that eventually those will get nothing, who will go over the top with their hodling.
Trading is the smart and profitable way to go. You only have to understand that the big fish are after the little fish.

To me it seems the same, as if people would have told that "Spacewar!" will be the computer game that will be played by everyone for several decades.

"Spacewar?"  ....perhaps Space Invaders or Asteroids.  Personally, I was all over Phoenix.

Did you play it?

No, I wasn't even born then.

Edit: No, I haven't played the one at the museum either.

Gox twitter account just deleted all of their tweets  Wink

https://twitter.com/MtGox

wow, hiding stuff for lawsuits?

On the internet, deleting something rarely makes it actually "gone" certainly in case of a serious lawsuit. I don't think there was much of legal importance on their twitter anyway, and you can always just delete the account.

I've been wondering if Karpales is purposefully trying to drive the price down with the way he acts. The press releases he sent out would fit that theory. I'm pretty sure since he single-handedly tanked the price on Gox they've been doing pretty well capital inflow wise (certainly relative to the price of the coins there)
I don't want to look too hard for an explanation but as a plan to restore some of the company's accounts I suspect it would work pretty well.

It's far from early here (except being early morning daylight) but I'm hitting the bed now. Bids are there, nothing will change if I stay awake more Cheesy

Something interesting is happening at the moment I think. Gox remove their tweets, relocate their office and that link few pages back saying "light at the end of the tunnel for gox customers". Maybe the exchange really is being sold to some more competent people? We'll see, we'll see.

And again manipulation and insider trading is taking us down. Who in his right mind would buy Bitcoins anymore? This must look so bad for anyone who was just about to put a few 100k in. Might as well take it to a casino.

They've recovered hundreds, maybe even thousands of lost coins in last 2-3 weeks. It's so obvious they manipulated market for that cause it's untrue. First that run when Gox was 250$ over Bitstamp just days before going 500$ below. Catalog example of insider manipulation.

Indeed, lot of stuff happened in few hours. Resignation from Bitcoin FOundation, tweets deleted, something's going on.

This is actually good news. I applaud Mark and the MtGox team for making the right decision as I had to do the same. Speaking very lengthy to Mark and the team over the weekend, I see good news on the horizon for people who have funds stuck in MtGox (I also have funds in MtGox stuck) - Charlie

@bitnub 1 point 1 hour ago
When you say funds... do you mean USD, BTC or both?
permalinksaveparent

@Bitcoin_Charlie 4 points 1 hour ago
A small amount of BTC.
