I think that more then 80 % of people here are aggressive trolls, who are interested in short term profits.

if they are long from 530, they will tell you that the price will skyrocket. when they close their trade @ 640, they will brag that they are good traders. and vicversa.


HODLERS are actually people who bought their when they were 5 $ each.

It was Mark and cronies selling...no one else ever did !...Btc withdrawl never opens again...you won´t see Mark ever again in public !

The Sepa and Yen queues will work as long as there is more inflow than outflow when not being seized finally.

Everything else is complete brain -dead shell speculation.

I just learned a story about a 'bitcoin investment fund' in a certain Latin American country.  The fund took several thousand coins from clients,  promising large returns in BTC.  Then the owner claimed that the fund had been hacked an all the coins were stolen, and closed the fund.  The clients have not yet received their coins back.

What makes the story interesting is that that same person is the owner of that country's main bitcoin exchange.  And his clients see nothing wrong with that.

Why is there so much tolerance to dishonesty in the bitcoin community?

Well, I personally know the people involved and you are just making wild assumptions. AFAIK the theft of the fund money happened indeed.

Only two people, at most, really know if that is true: the (ex)owner of the fund, and the thief.

So how do you know? You read it in a forum, and assumed it was a fact, too?

and the owner of the fund is the OLD owner of the exchange, not the actual one. He sold it.

He may have, but what difference does that make to the issue?

The point is that the person opens a bitcoin investment fund that promises incredible profits (how could that work?), collects a few thousand BTC, then tells clients "Sorry, I have been hacked and all your coins are gone." Yet people still keep depositing coins and money into his exchange.  That is what I find amazing.

By the way, selling the exchange only made the thing worse.  Now he surely says "your lost coins are not my problem anymore, I sold everything"; while the new owners will say "we only bought the exchange, we had nothing to do with the fund."

I don't get it.  You are saying that investors trust their money and bitcoins to shady exchange owners, because scamming is the foundation of capitalism?  It does not make sense at all.

I don't think there is, there is just ignorance. What do you do when someone steals your bitcoins.

Of course it would be great to buy in at the best possible point in time from when you decide that hodling bitcoins makes sense.
However calling people who bought in at 1k bagholders depends on your personal prediction of what bitcoin may achieve and your personal goals.

If you are in it for the long term and don`t want to speculate and believe bitcoin can go beyond 10k then buying at 1k isn`t the end of the world. True, you could have gotten twice as many coins but then you are automatically moving towards the realm of speculation.
Thats why dollar cost averaging makes sense. You don't go all in right away.  
I've also bought fractions of a BTC above 850USD and don't feel like a bag holder. I believe that it will eventually surpass that point once again.
Yeah, i could try to sell and buy lower  but then I'm speculating and knowing my limitations in regards to predicting any movements at all I'll most likely lose even more through classical "buy high sell low" moves.

There was that nice Australian girl a few weeks back - Julie was it? Extreme Hodler and you know what Mat, probably whole lot less stressed than someone trying to judge a swing, missing it, immediately taking a loss, trying again, sweating, etc.
