Many on this thread and a couple of other forum threads have accurately called/predicted this price pull/back.  How do they do it?  Are they basing their forcasts on past performance of Bitcoin and charts?

Large sample size + confirmation bias

There are just as many bad calls around here as good ones, as would be expected.

The posters in the rpietila thread seem pretty confident in what they are predicting and have been pretty accurate as far as I can tell.

what do they predict as the bottom?

$400 I think, absolute minimum

What are the changes we'll get that gox update on monday?
Well its Monday morning in Japan already, don't you think if they had good news, it would be released first thing in the morning?

No tbh. They seem to like 7pm announcements.

That sounds about right.  I remember their prediction to be in the 400's.  I'm no expert - they're calling it the capitulation?

I've worked with people like this before, and I'm 99% sure this is what happens:

Step 1: After an announcement, everybody goes home sweating bullets.
Step 2: Next day everybody comes back, things are working "as intended" so you do absolutely nothing for a day.
Step 3: Finally you notice that nobody likes your "intentions" so you decide you need to do something.
Step 4: You spend half a week talking about how to get people to stop complaining while doing as bloody little as possible.
Step 5: After a week of debating you finally get the announcement written and want to release it ASAP.
Step 6: You spend about 12 hours actually completing what you plan to announce, announce it, then leave for home sweating bullets again.

Yes.  It's true.  We live in the future.

We live at a time when dubstep brings gravitas.

Awesome.

I don't think so. That Lehner Franz sounds quite sinister and mendacious.

Mark may end up looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life though. He needs to fix Gox fast, and communicate properly.

Why was it locked?
In case some of Mt.Gox's bitcoins fell out of it, due to bugs in the IRC protocol.

I do not understand the reasoning behind the bots on BSP. After a large sell there is always an equally large buy a few seconds after. What is the reasoning behind it?
