My speculation. Large mining companies dumping to maximize profits with some market manipulation by whales.

China Shanghai stocks down 8.5%, biggest one day drop since 2007.
Ooh, I thought that one was "fixed". So much for banning short selling!

The chinese giveth, the chinese taketh away.Seems like yesterday's pump was just an attempt to squeeze a few longs because it only happened with BTC. LTC didn't move up an inch yesterday, while BTC was having a blast.
I think many people,me included, were expecting to smash through 300 easily on monday.

We'll probably have to stick around the 290s for a week or so before we move easily over 300. At that point it will be a solid move and we won't see the 200s again (except that one freak day where everyone's panicking for whatever reason, then we rocket to the moon).

I'd say bitcoin is lucky to have only dropped 1% after looking at the Shanghai composite.

I would say bitcoin is not really connected to the real global markets... It's in its own universe... Pump and dumping altcoins has much more effect on BTC then the real global market has.
