$17k in 2025 seems way low balling it.  Before the next 2008 financial crash, we will likely see another bull run to take BTC to 3k-10k.  When the price is already at levels that high, the financial crash will create a true black swan event to turn Bitcoin into one of the biggest currencies in the world.  All of that stuff is going to happen long before 2025.

People really think the drive to Walmart economy is going to last another 10 years? lol

2 million $ worth of longs added on bitfinex in the last 12 hrs, total near $26.5 mil . Shorts below 8k btc.

If that isn't a recipe for a crash, I don't know what is. When the price starts dropping, there will be margin calls.
I will admit, I shouldn't have sold at 450. I should have waited for 465-470. That doesn't change the fact that this leverage fueled rally is not sustainable, and will end with a massive move downward. Get out now, or lose all your gains.

What exchange are your bids on?

Speaking of the bar car, man can't live on Bitcoin alone. All this popcorn has been making me thirsty.

The lame open-mike improv "comedy" at the local bar should be done by now and the band should be starting soon. I think I'll go have a frosty Guinness or two (or several).

Hopefully we'll be over $470 by the time I get back. Go Bitcoin go.

Are you kidding?  I thought that you only trade a few percentage of your holdings, maybe 10% at most?

Even though it is possible that we may witness a $40-ish correction, this is really no time to be selling significant portions of your BTC holdings...

maybe sell a bit here and there as insurance, but NOTHING significant that would cause you to worry if the price were to keep going up, which it very much may do.

Buy support is stronger than I thought around here on finex. I look at their volume with more weight because I don't see obvious bot shenanigans. That said, many of these recent rally songs seem to be led by china.

I will raise a hearty toast when we hit $502? something and JJG's break even party.

finex
Why do you ask?

Seems like your pushing your own agenda trying to get people to sell so you can buy back in and minimize your losses.

Humans in their current form have only been around for ~100,000 years.  Do you think we will survive our first million years?

Jeez, that didn't take long. I go to change my shirt before going out and we're already past $475.

Maybe we'll get past $490 before I get back.

$495 is a big milestone for me. At current exchange rates that's Can$680, back to over ten times what I paid for my first coins.

Isn't holding fun?

See ya. My beer's getting warm.

Thanx.

My rough napkin calculation is currently $501.03 (but $502 is fine, too), which remains about 6.8% away from the highs of our current floating price points.....

seems very achievable within the next 2 to 72 hours

question is: what happens at 500$?

i can't imagine us going through it just like that. correction is very likely, maybe down to 450 again...

Probably what we saw at $400 ceiling this run up. Lots of bucking and bears trying to win; They will be slaughtered. Every. Last. One.

I presume we will test $485-$500 all weekend. Then bust the $500 nut Monday or Tuesday. Then again, our Sunday is China's Monday. Be on your guard. Hodl!

Quote
After adding up all the Bitcoin needed for online payments, remittances, micro-transactions, the unbanked and other applications in the year 2025, he concludes that one Bitcoin will, by then, be worth $17,473, and that the present value of a Bitcoin would need to be $604 today to support that amount of economic activity in 2025. If Luria’s projection becomes true, anyone investing today would see a 40+x return within 10 years.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/laurashin/2015/12/11/should-you-invest-in-bitcoin-10-arguments-in-favor-as-of-december-2015/

Forbes seems to believe we are headed $604+, then $17,473

BULLISH
This would be the first time in the history of bitcoin that the price from a major rally was simply passed without a 4 consolidation period. There was fake out rally every time.

Up 9.7% in 24 hours! This is not sustainable. Buyers are slowing down. If you want profit, better take it now. Correction is imminent.

Every $10 you call for a correction.  I guess eventually you'll be right...
There will be a correction at a certain level but the religious callers of it every ten bucks can be spotted miles away as a known troll building one of their new sock puppets under the supposed radar. Keen eyes have seen the light long ago but engage all you wish. Undecided Ignore function is your friend.
