Interesting.
I supposed they abandoned Bitcoin for the blockchain (rebranded DLT Distributed Ledger Technology) after all. And now?
Are they coming back to bitcoin?

I'm very skeptical.

More target practice for the cynics  Wink

Post your contemptuous comments and derisive dismissals here !  Cheesy

Someone wanting investors is saying the price is going up.  Who would have thought Huh

I was already promised by those ITT early in 2014, when we were around $600, that btc was going to 5K by Sep. 2014.

How did I do? Smiley

Ok guys, we've been seeing insane predictions since the end of 2013.

$1600/btc... $2000/btc... $3000/btc... even $10K/btc... but 3 years later nothing happens. I believe in bitcoin, but I'm worried about the time frame it might take for adoption to hit a point where we finally pass ATH. That could take a decade or not even happen in our lifetime

You gotta do your own thinking, rather than relying on any promises, especially when it comes to prices of any kind of good or service.  So if you relied on some kind of "promise," that's all on you.

That's true.  May happen, or may not happen.  Each of us needs to consider probabilities of various scenarios and do our best to invest in accordance and in proportion to our own views and within our financial abilities.

That's a challenge I can fight. To wait even a decade to see Bitcoin up to the moon is worth a lifetime.
I'm for the long run but I am enjoying the short term one likewise.

Things like BTC don't happen easily in our life.

does adoption have anything to with price? I seriously doubt it. hype is what drives it and that's gonna continue being the case for a long time.

You have no clue if you are concluding that hype is the only thing that drives bitcoin price.  Sure, hype is a factor, but adoption is another factor, and there are other factors as well, so hopefully you can reconsider your current thoughts about the bitcoin price situation...  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy     Tongue

This calculator is good at showing the many drivers of the bitcoin price (never left alpha stage but still pretty good)

Thanks.  That's an interesting site with some informative particulars.

I find curious a couple of the descriptions.  1) I would have thought that the world-wide black market as a bit larger than .65 trillion dollars, but I don't really have any counter facts beyond my mere thinking and hypothesizing about the topic  and 2) The top section shows the current number of bitcoins mined as nearly 16 million; however, the bottom section seems to show the current number of bitcoins mined as nearing 14 million coins with nearly 1 million lost coins... seems like a glitch in the software/facts, maybe?

the main driving force behind price is poeple willing to speculate that bitcoin will continue to grow

how can we do that when we KNOW there can only ever be 1MB.

1MB is a good number...  Roll Eyes ... The thing is that we already have enough coins... So I would say the right choice would be to try to be anti-productive and go full retarded masochistic.. Smiley

*Edit: If it was up to me I would keep it at 1MB, 0.768MB or 0.896MB .... Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Dude... in the short term an increase is maybe a good idea... but in the long term we need to come back to 1MB ... 0.512... etc Smiley

*Edit: Maybe I exaggerated with with 0.512 ... but I think 1MB it is pretty good for the next 20-30 years... It gives enough incentive to nodes... And miners need to be persecuted as well a bit.. Smiley

*Edit2: I also believe that the mass scale use of bitcoin in today's crappy infrastructure development... A solution would be to peg 0.00000001 Satoshi for now to copper coins... and them pegged to silver and maybe go towards gold... but the problem there is the more expensive the metals and more likely to be attempted a counterfeit scheme .. so yeah... I would stick to 1MB and the lower Satoshi numbers to be dealt in some kind of physical money (like copper).

*Edit3: At the actual value... Yeah... to be honest everyone can carry like 10-20$ of copper coins. (especially since it is very devalued right now and it will sky rockets soon... meaning that 10-20$ value of 100grams of copper would rise to lets say 50-100$)

*Edit4: ... I mean... who the f**k is going to counterfeit copper??  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy   ... (and even if someone would try.. the amount of billions of tons they would need for those cheaper metals would still be worth something... at least more than the worthless paper...  Roll Eyes )
