Come on good old bitcoin I give you one week to bring your 4 stars and stripes digits to the Eurozone. It doesn't take much effort: in the end it is another €28. Then please go to the UK as well, they also desperately need you.

The ETF date is the most interesting part about bitcoin at the moment. As a regulator you would have to be insane to approve a bitcoin ETF in current state, so if it did get approved it would probably be the government trying to create some alternative target for people to waste their time in and keep them out of the metals markets. When the current scam system starts to implode, gold will go to at least $20,000 an ounce in current buying power and silver will see even higher percentage gains. The sooner people figure this out, the faster it does implode - which is why they don't want people creating bull runs in those markets and want to distract people with other things instead.
Someone is going to get all upset that I implied bitcoin is somehow not as good as metals, but by that I just mean that it's very likely metals will have a currency roll again or that the world reserve currency will be metals, while it's very unlikely a nation state or the world reserve currency would be bitcoin. In fact, it would be a disaster since bitcoin isn't fungible with every transaction traced with white and black lists making it a permissioned ledger in that aspect. Until/if that issue is resolved, nobody should be wishing for the government or wall street to have any affiliation with bitcoin whatsoever when the odds of it turning into some 1984 scheme are far higher than not.

Since I live in Ecuador I always had to buy bitcoins via PayPal -> Virwox (It is way to expensive... ) In the past I have tried to buy with my credit card but could not find places that would accept my Master Card since it was issued in Ecuador. Now it seems that finally I would be able to use my credit card at Bitstamp and buy Bitcons see here: https://www.bitstamp.net/article/debit-cc-payments-bitcoin-now-extended-beyond-eu/These type of actions are bringing Bitcoin to more acceptability. Hooray! edit: does anyone know what would be the buying fees for the credit card transaction?

Looks like bitcoin might surge upwards.
$1337 target I wonder how much of the price going up is the etf deadline. 1 out of 4 odds of passing imho. Being a cautious buerucrat never gets your civil service gig in trouble, job wise. Hope I'm dead wrong.

Hope I'm dead wrong. This price has to be due to the March 11th ETF decision and it'll rise until that date. I am slightly fearful of a soul destroying dump when/ if they do not approve the ETF. Can they kick the can down the road any longer or does a decision HAVE to be made March 11th?

As a regulator you would have to be insane to approve a bitcoin ETF in current state Bitcoin ETF most probably won't be approved but that doesn't matter. We'll have just another short lived opportunity to buy cheap coins.

Bitcoin doesn't come without risk, if the system collapsed for some reason. If it was compromised or hacked. That surely rules it out as a reserve currency. Its a bit intangible with no physical "thing". I suppose the equivalent in, say gold, is that someone manages alchemy and gold is suddenly 2 a penny. In our bizarre world who knows which might even happen.

Yep, it'll be huge psychologically when you factor in that the previous gox high was highly manipulated any way. I wasn't around for the last high but I'm here for the next one Hopefully big money will pile in when news of a new ATH hits the general media.
