It is happening!

23,6% segwit2x support and going up fast
(last 144 blocks)

How long until they can signal for the 2MB hard fork that comes with it?

Can anybody give me a quick rundown of what this means, or a proper resource that I can read?

I think if 2MB doesn't get enough support that part of the proposal will expire? Someone correct me. I'm sure I'm wrong

Correct. The 2MB hard fork kicks in about 3 months after segwit.

Only thing we can yet tell is that segwit activation is 99.9999% sure.
As i understand it is compatible with core version, no more asicboost.
Blocksize will be battle part 2.

Past 40 blocks have 77.5% segwit2x support
Just added up the pools listed on coin.dance based on the blockchain.info hashrate distribution chart.

If both sources are accurate, it's about 66.8% hashrate support.

Gosh, quelle surprise. I wonder how much users handed over to miners for their spamfest. It must add up to a mountain of easily extorted money.

That is why unlimited is only safe way, until there is a cap for fee size.
If we get asicboost out by activating segwit, that is fine for now.

And for the end:
Miners where the biggest losers, spammed mempool high and caused price rise limitations.

Miners, the big ones, are you feeling stupid?

I have moved 70% of my funds out of bitcoin. My smartest move ever.
Kept the 30% just in case, now i am unsure will i move rest of it out or stay, no way investing back for now.

I understand the mempool has started confirming no fee txs, but it appears it's filling up somewhat again as I tried this with a 110-sat/byte transaction and it hasn't confirmed for more than six hours. Can't wait till SW so fees aren't so high, they are ok but lower is always good.

Thinking about the unexpected space in the mem pool and trying to make more sense of it. While I suppose it's possible the miners could have spammed it for increased fees,  it's possible they were simply opportunists to some real traffic.  If that were the case, Such a sharp climb and drop in transactions may tell another story. Is it too far fetched or more probable to assume a very deep pocket may have hoarded 500,000 coins or even many more in the past months, driving up the price and filling the pools?  Forgive me if I'm just being captain obvious.  How many coins would an individual or state need to control in order to gain a monopoly over price movements?

That's just the recent blocks.  The hashrate is steady, but we'll see the blocks go >60% to match the hashrate over the next few hours.

It's very bullish if it actually happens.  It would also prevent a really messy UASF.

The segwit2x signaling is just symbolic at this point. They're just signalling that they're going to signal for segwit.

The segwit2x signaling is just symbolic at this point. They're just signalling that they're going to signal for segwit.

I wonder if there'll be signalling fuckery a la Litecoin in an attempt to milk even more money. I suppose UASF is the thing lurking in the background to dampen that.

So guys, why won't these signal for segwit2x? What's the reason for this? Are they outnumbered?

Just trying to understand all this. I get the bit no one wants a hard fork, we don't need messy.
