Why are people dumping before the Oct. 25 fork Huh

Because nobody gives a flying fuck about Bitcoin Gold.

Actually, some of us actually could give two fucks. But that's about it.  Grin

And why did they call it Bitcoin Gold? It has absolutely nothing to do with gold (e.g.- a coin backed by actual physical gold would make sense to be called Bitcoin Gold. But then it wouldn't have been Bitcoin at all w/o mining).

It shoulda been called BitGPUTM, or something similar.

Kids these days, they absolutely SUCK at marketing and branding.

Yeah not that it is appropriate topics of conversation for this forum thread. But it's really sad to me that in this day and age, no one converses or debates ideas, information, or thoughts anymore. They simply "proclaim" their position or beliefs on a matter, quickly label the other person with some label that implies a bucket or category of some opposite extreme ideology/point of view that doesn't even apply, and the whole conversation is immediately over before it even began.

That's the most allowed where there are many subjects with only one predefined admissible "respectable" position aka NewSpeak. And luckily I did not even alluded to ThoseWhoCannotBeNamed or the trollfest here would have been 10X bigger.

I only moved all BTC out of exchange (only one, Kraken). So I did not sell. And kept my alts on (most LTC).

Sometimes selling looks like a good idea. Like now:

edit: I'm holding my LTC too, obviously.

Yeah but frankly, some of us have made more off those exchanges than is currently on them. So.

Agreed, but that was also seemingly the case in May-June... .

Terms like "racist", "fascist" and "antisemitism" are pretty well established words with clearly defined meanings.

what does it mean "semite"? do you know it?

"SJW" otoh is short for a truly nonsensical label. It's bigoted right wing nutter code for "not a bigoted asshole".

Go to play the political correctness kommissar somewhere else. With me it does not work.

Yeah, they mean someone you don't like.

It means someone who, much like a small child, throws a tantrum when encountering someone he does not like.

seems like the dips brings out the best in folks around here....

next thing ya know... roach will show up...

This is hardly a "dip"... I mean, sure, technically you can say that BTC prices dropped from $6180 to $5700 - but really, to me, it seems more like a pause in the upwards, rather than a "dip"... ... Let's call it an "8% pause in the upwards."  hahahahaha  Agree, anyone?

It is interesting.  These recently coined terms such as "social justice warrior" and "white knight" seem to be used as linguistic magic wands.  Powerful spells the mere invocation of which should poison the well of ones opponent.  Much like some earlier terms tiredly bandied about by those of a different political bent.

I understand what you are saying that SJW has been bandied about as a negative, but I am more neutral about it, and I really don't consider the label to be as negative as some want to make it out to be.

The term White knight is way more fucking legitimate and valid regarding the behavior of someone else, and a white knight seems to be someone who is getting involved in some other person's concern when the other person may certainly be sufficiently capable of defending himself/herself.   Don't get me wrong, I don't disagree with the power of some person to actually designate actual appointed representatives and/or spokepersons - however, a white knight seems to be a self-selected representative of some cause that may only be tangentially related to his/her own interests.

A SJW is a communist. We use a different term at the moment because humans are frightened animals that refuse to accept that we are sliding back towards state totalitarianism.
