Coinbase just back-peddled their back-peddle. https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/78kd07/coinbase_will_refer_to_the_chain_with_most/

I guess I can safely ignore 3%. Next fork!

I guess, i have a little more than 3 %. But i don´t care. i´m so much in positive territorry, my next question is: what i´m gonna do, when i´m rich. did you contemplate that ?

You'll probably purchase yourself a shiny personal automobile. Statistically, that's what people do.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-bitcoin-tezos-battles/tezos-leaders-to-tout-cryptocurrency-project-in-vegas-as-promoters-fight-idUSKBN1CT2LZ

In the Tezos fundraising, participants were told they were not making an investment, but a “non-refundable donation” to the Tezos Foundation, which is seeking not-for-profit status.

This might be interesting information but it's difficult to see.

I Agree!

I'm rather liking the new gay attire of this thread.

So...if the price ever starts going down too much I will create a new fork...announce a few months ahead of time while buying...then short right before the fork. Then fork it and let that die.

Perhaps we can get someone to do this once every couple of months if we go through another slow period.

Memory Lane...
This new assbot made me think when we had our Chartbuddy companion telling us the price situation every once in a while. If you were there don't laugh at those prices where holding strong was a must.

AcK! the missed boats in that chart.....AcK!

Is it just me ....or is it getting harder to think MOON when BTC was  like what $850 usd last year and it is now $5.5K? I mean, for me to think the equiv to that the 5.5K at the same
pop would be

$35.58K!

(er...my head hurts....) Anyway, getting hard to wrap my head around these prices.....just an observation...I mean hell.....It has been a bit over 4 years since I got into crypto

550gh KNC Jupiter BTC miner 0ct 18th, 2013....btc was $150 usd the day I turned it on I think....it almost made 1 btc a day, again if I remember right

so long ago ... don't ya know, a whole FOUR YEARS!

anyway, just an aside as I ponder the future

edit:

I miss 'Chart Buddy' Sad

Those were the days. I thought everyone was dumping on me and leaving me to die. I remember being more or less resigned to it.

Soon enough it'll be just the two of us, Lambie. Then just you.  Shocked

Took me some time to understand these wierd images, when is was new in this forum. Back in the days. Cheesy
And even though i accumulated some coins, i'm still a little bit frustrated that i haven't kept more instead of investing in pizza and humbel bundles.
On the other side it was a nice feeling ordering the something for the first time with a pure virtual currency and receiving something to eat in the real world afterwards Cheesy

Glad I'm not alone. It's a bit hard to absorb these prices - gives me a headache. After so many years, it's still mind-blowing.

And I had to buy a virtual currency using another virtual currency in the early days, e.g. Linden Dollars from the Second Life game on VirWox or moneychangers who accept them.  Now that's about as sketchy as it gets.

As I said yesterday, a dip down to a price $500 higher than I paid less than a week ago isn't a deep enough dip for me to buy... yet. Maybe if we drop below $5.3k.

We almost got to a "buyable" dip - and I am starting to question whether this dip is over yet because we seem to be aiming back up.

Sure, I am buying about every $200 down, so from $6180-ish, I have bought back in three stages, but I have not been able to buy in the $5300s for a while... so I am just buying when it bounces down and then back up and then down again.. but did not quite trigger my $5300-ish buys but surely we are still within reach.. so maybe we will go up and then down again and then up and then down and then up, up, up, and then down again, and then up, up, up again.... don't quote me on specifics because there could be a few additional UPs or a few additional DOWNs in there.

4k? That's pretty pessimistic. I think I'll give up watching the price for a while until this blows over.

I did vote for $5k < > $5,5k by the end of the month. But I guess I'l have to vote again the same for the end of next month as well. Smiley
I knew there will be some dip in the price of bitcoin but with bitcoin trying to resist the dip. I guess I will go for the $4,500-$5,000 price range till the end of next month.

I remember those graphs, would have been more useful if it combined the volume from multiple exchanges just like its not all clear now in the various currencies.  Price looks to have reset fully within its higher range, look for 5600 area as possible resistance to any larger recovery.

33459 CNY or higher is a reasonable bullish hold overall

Quite frankly, we know nearly nothing about gays. Why do you exist? What is the evolutionary benefit? How do you interact with women compared to normal men? Little to no research is being done in this area, because it is not politically correct.

Your experience is not normal, because you are not the norm.

Not sure how to do research on this without it being hopelessly tainted by ideology.

Here's my take:

In a symbol-manipulating and culture-producing species, homosexuals fulfill the function of outliers not bound by responsibilities of family and to a certain degree free from regular societal norms and expectations. As such they are in a position to dedicate themselves to niche endeavors which may have no immediate useful function for society, but contribute to the experimentation and innovation which keep human culture evolving and adapting. They are often able to take bigger risks and pursue less profitable career-paths compared to heterosexual people with a family. Having children/spouses be dependent on your income makes you more conservative in taking risks and experimenting with your perceived role in society. Thus you can find many homosexuals in fields which demand extreme immersion and individuality of thinking in order to produce results: art and science.

Anyway it's probably best to ask some gay people what they think about all this.

Obviously many traders are still trading bitcoin as altcoins during pump/dump cycles. They buy when bitcoin price rises and sell when it drops. Needless to say they are satisfied with small profits or even losses! Some of these noobs are quite rich to put sell walls like 500-1000 btc when the price is at the bottom. Anyway, the present situation is not good only because of the contentuous fork segwit2x. I expect the price will continue to rise before the HF but occasionally to have some dumps of noob whales, because of the FUD the HF brings. Unlike the situation of AltCash, when the bitcoin trading wasn't endangered, now it is. There is a possibility that most miners will mine 2x part on a loss to make the legacy blockchain weak and vulnerable. There are even posts in reddit for an organized 51% attack on the legacy chain. If this happens core team will have to urgently change the POW algorithm or switch to POS. I don't believe that miners will go completely rogue, since this is a suicide. The uncertainty may continue for 2 weeks after the HF, when the difficulty is adjusted for both chains. Nobody can predict what will happen, but there is a small possibility that miners 'win' if the bitcoin price crashes and most exchanges decide to follow the hashpower. I don't see how the current price of bitcoin will transfer automatically to the 2x altcoin, so miners are delusional that they will mine (even in the distant future) with bigger profits.  It is more probable IMO that  the users will win and bitcoin will remain what it is - the unique always rising cryptocurrency in the world!

well, the B2X attack is still not over yet. Yesterday coinbase blogged about following the current bitcoin chain instead of this B2X crap. Now they clarify their intentions:

We are going to call the chain with the most accumulated difficulty Bitcoin.

According to Coinbase revised 'clarification' miners can change any consensus rules unilaterally

They probably have solid commitment from greater than 51% hashpower that they will mine S2X at a loss for a sufficient period of time that they can declare the predetermined winner.

No, assbot. He clarified his clarification. It's the miners _and_ the market.

"Market cap, community support, etc would all factor in."

Sorry y'all, yet to iron out all the kinks. This was my first time programming an ass bot. In fact the original ass bot has 100+ developers contributing code on a volunteer basis. I just forked this one off, so it's buggy. Not much I can do about it now. Let the market decide I guess.
